I usually do not leave reviews if I am not pleased with a business. But this is a different situation. So when you read this review read between the lines. I am a woman of color. I am a business owner for 22 years, I have lived in Midtown for 7 years, the same amount of time I have visited this nail spa several times annually. They are familiar with my face. I was humiliated today! After attending 7 years to this nail salon off and on I was treated like a CRIMINAL, and disrespected with the rudest comments by the two front desk workers, mainly the young lady who work the front desk. I had fraud alert on my credit card and to protect me a restriction was put on my account so my credit card was decline. I called my bank and the representative explain that my account was fine the restriction was to protect me. I needed to come into the bank the next morning and they would correct the issue. It was after 8:00pm and the bank was closed. I explained this to the two office workers and mainly the young lady who job is to sit the clients when they come, because she was rude TELLING me I should have more than one card, TELLING ME I should carry me some cash, and she tired and ready to go home. Its not what you say but how you talk to a customer. I was very polite, respectful and told her fraud was on my account but I want to make arrangements to pay them the $70.00 and what can I do because I wanted to make sure they were paid. SHE CALLED THE POLICE ON ME TO HAVE ME ARRESTED and I wanted to pay them for no reason. I was in disbelief because I live in walking distance and she know my face. I usually spend $100 or more each time I visit but this time I did not, I think that was the issue. When the police arrived, she lied and told the officer I refuse the pay, the KIND OFFICER allowed me to speak and looked like I know this woman can pay after looking at me, I explained what happen and that I had someone on the way to pay the $70.00 but it seemed as thought the front desk lady thought I was lying. I also told her I had someone coming but she called the police"wow". I was shocked because I have been coming to get my nails done for years so I was not a stranger, was this prejudice? My friend drove her Mercedes. I am very hurt and sadden after I apologize for their inconvenience having to stay after work I was ignored by by both workers (they never responded at all) I said I apologize a few more times and both times ignored and given a frustrated look, came from work all the way from Union City GA. it was important to me to make sure this nail company got paid for their services. My friend paid them and it also included a tip and they had nothing to say to me. NO GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Who treats a loyal customer like this unless, they never wanted to service in the beginning, this is what it seems to me! I saw the real on how they treat their loyal customers. You can do your job and not be rude and degrade a person. I was degraded to my face and spoke to like a child. I had not tried to leave at no time, I was never the angry black woman, and I told the workers I had someone coming to pay and the girl at the front desk, rudely said "Well when she coming you said she was right down the street ,now you saying 10 minutes away, in front the police to make it seem like I was lying " once again I politely said , "10 minutes is down the street to me because I live 10 minutes away down the street" then she in a frustrated rude way did not take my word, this girl asked the police office to have me call my frient to ask her how far away. So I called willingly and put her on the speaker phone, ironically when she picked up the phone concerned about me she immediately said " she was 8 minutes away her GPS showed." This was upsetting to me at this point because I thought I would at least get an apology for being accused of not wanting to pay. This is what the girl at the front desk who her job is to sit the customers, in shocked. I live in midtown and was treated like a CRIMINAL FROM A PLACE I WILL NEVER RETURN...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been wearing acrylics since March 2018 and I began wearing them again (last time was in 2016 for a few months) because I wanted to have an act of self care that I could look down at and see evidence of. Thereās something about having well-manicured nails that makes the day-to-day more exhilarating and pretty nails give me a boost when Iām feeling uninspired.
I chose acrylics because theyāre durable and long. Regular manicures donāt last and gel is too thick and doesnāt last either.
In the month of May, I started a new job and needed to cut down my acrylics. I got them trimmed and painted in OPIās Samoan Sands with a clear gel topcoat. After two weeks with my set utterly grown out, I wanted the acrylics OFF. I suddenly became over them and I wanted them GONE. They grow out too quickly for me and even with a gel coat, they donāt look good enough for my liking after two weeks.
I missed my natural nails, but I didnāt know what my next mani move would be. While I was visiting home, a family friend told me to get dip nails, also called SNS. I searched ādip nails Atlantaā on Google and found Piedmont Nails & Spa. After having lunch at the Sweet Auburn Market, I headed to the salon excited to finally get my acrylics removed. It was busy when I arrived, but I got seated right away. The women at the front desk was helpful and was doing a marvelous job at assisting customers. She directed me to the hundreds of colors offered in SNS and regular polish for my toes. I found a lot of nice nude colors, which is my go-to pallet, but decided to go with white so that I could ensure my mani/pedi matched. It was also a safe color to get for my first time trying SNS.
Holly started with my pedicure and shortly after, Lori came over to remove my acrylic nails and begin my manicure. She was super sweet and offered me a drink. The removal process took 30 minutes. Then she started on the SNS process. After my nails were dipped, she filed them into a beautiful coffin shape and applied a topcoat. At the end of it all, my toes and nails looked great. Thank you Holly and Lori. I had an efficient, satisfying experience and I canāt wait to come back. Itās nicely decorated, soothing environment, and very clean. They even have a Loyalty Rewards card which will hopefully prove itself useful in the future. Job well done Piedmont...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in yesterday after being on a work trip for 2 weeks (I desperately needed some relaxation - but quickly) and had 1 hour until I needed to leave for the airport. To stay ahead of schedule, I made sure to ask the guy at the front if I could get a pedi and be out in 30 minutes. He assured me it was no problem, that it would actually take less time and I was directed to a chair immediately. All was good until l my tech used her phone to answer and make calls the entire time - the assistant from the front came by and suggested I get acrylic on my ābigā toes (she said they were cracking, yet Iāve not ever noticed- but okay...) - I said fine as long as I was out of there in time. (Note - the tech knew also I had 30 min) my tech messed up my acrylic and said I moved. I thought she would file it, fix it, something - anything! .... THEN, my tech suggested (really, she said I needed it) gel polish bc it dried quickly compared to regular polish. If taking SIX times with the light on my nails, being there well over an hour, and paying almost $60 to walk out with whop-sided nails that have cracks (no joke) on the front where the acrylic ends and a dark spot where the polish didnāt take, is best - Iām at a loss. I almost fell out when the guy at the front was rude to me when I asked about the price - he said āyou white people always cause problems, almost as bad as the blackā - omg!!!! - then he proceeds to tell me I was racist and itās 2018 - note, all bc I asked what my total was. .. when I told him I have a biracial child, he got quiet, then told me to pay my bill and get out bc he was close to calling the police and that I had ruined his day and that I should prioritize better, I suppose asking wasnāt enough š. I paid my bill - once he actually gave it to me, and I then remembered what the concierge at our hotel said - they are rude and highly overpriced for the service you receive. Itās not the money I had the issue with -It was the service. Our concierge was totally correct. Sadly I didnāt listen. Needless to say, I no longer live in Ga but know a lot of people that do. This will be the one place that Iāll go out of my way to tell them not to visit. ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ Long story short - go...
