As a loyal customer of Exhale Spa for the past 3-4 years, I feel compelled to share my deepening disappointment with their service and business practices. What started as occasional issues has evolved into a pattern of poor communication and disrespect for customers.
The problems began with their membership terms. When I initially signed up for their spa subscription, I was explicitly promised one "makeup month" - meaning if I couldn't use my monthly credit, it could be shifted to the following month. However, when I finally needed to use this feature, they refused to honor their original agreement, claiming they had changed their policy. This type of bait-and-switch tactic is unacceptable for a long-term customer who signed up under specific terms.
Their communication failures continued during weather emergencies. During a hurricane last year, they called to reschedule my morning massage to a later time on the same day. Upon arrival, I discovered the spa was completely closed, and the hotel staff informed me they had no control over the spa as it's privately owned. When I finally reached the spa management, their response was shockingly unprofessional - asking "what do you expect?" since their workers couldn't access the city. The obvious question remains: why reschedule me to a time they knew their staff couldn't make?
More recently, in January 2025, they failed to proactively notify subscription members about facility renovations. I discovered this only after attempting to book my regular appointment online and having to call to investigate the issue. Their response? "Oh well, now you know..." This casual dismissal of the inconvenience caused to their members is telling.
The final straw came today when I arrived for my massage with my regular therapist, only to discover they had arbitrarily switched me to a different practitioner without any advance notice or explanation. When I declined the appointment - as this wasn't the therapist I had booked - they responded with hostility, threatening to charge a late cancellation fee and forfeit my February appointment. Their attempt to penalize me for their unilateral changes to my booking is both unprofessional and possibly unethical.
What's most disappointing is the consistent pattern of: Failure to honor original agreements Poor communication about service changes Lack of respect for customer preferences Unprofessional responses to legitimate concerns Attempts to penalize customers for management's mistakes
While the actual spa services were once satisfactory, the deterioration in business practices, customer service, and basic professional courtesy has reached an unacceptable level. I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone valuing reliability, transparency, or respect for their time and...
Read moreHands down, favorite spa in Atlanta. Arrive at least 30 minutes early so you have time for the steam room and a hot neck pillow in the waiting area before your spa service. They have cucumber-infused water, hot tea, and almonds near the spa door. Ask to check out the Hammam (co-Ed) after a massage or other body treatment but not after a facial! You don’t want to sweat off anything they put on your face! Shower area is always squeaky clean and they have amenities in each shower stall for you (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shave gel). Razors, shower caps, tampons, and towels are at the end of the row by the wall clock. Robes and spa sandals are at the end of the hallway in the locker rooms.
For treatments, go with the Flow Massage vs. the Fusion. It’s a little bit more expensive but much more effective — like a deep tissue, but relaxing.
Their Z Peel is my preferred facial. Your skin really glows afterward. I’ve also tried the Glow Body Scrub which is great to pair with a massage. My skin is baby soft after the scrub and they give you a brush to dry brush on your own at home as well. Good for lymphatic drainage - ask them to show you the right way to do this on your own (there is a right & wrong way to do it).
I want to love their mani/pedis but this is one area where I don’t really want to go “green” with beauty products. I appreciate that their nail polish isn’t toxic but the color doesn’t last very long. :( For now, I’m sticking with my toxic Essie at my local nail salon.
Check our their apparel and skin/body products before you leave. They’re often running a promo of some sort and have a well-curated selection.
Parking logistics when you arrive: it’s a little tricky if it’s your first time there. Exhale is on the 7th floor of the Loew’s Hotel. There are a couple entrances to the parking garage. Park on P7 in a spot marked for “retail” (NOT reserved). Remember to bring your ticket with you— Exhale validates up to 3 hours. There’s a small lobby and elevator in the corner of P7. Take the elevator to the Lobby. Walk out of the elevator toward the hotel lobby. Turn right and take your next immediate right to another bay of elevators. Take one up to the 7th floor. You’ve arrived! When you leave, get your parking ticket validated and follow the directions...
Read moreExhale at Loews Hotel Midtown has truly elevated my fitness experience, thanks to the exceptional guidance of their awesome trainers -- especially Maggie and Sami. Maggie is so seasoned and insightful and not only leads her classes with a masterful touch but also generously shares her deep knowledge of gym equipment and techniques. Her personalized advice post-class is not just only so incredibly appreciated, but has also so profoundly enhanced my workouts, and has become something I regularly share with my Midtown friends to try to get them to sign up and share the experience.
Sami brings a fresh energy that perfectly complements Maggie’s seasoned leadership. Together, they make each session—from yoga to HIIT to Barre—not just beneficial but truly enjoyable. Their enthusiasm is infectious, and their dedication is evident in every class they teach.
Maggie and Sami’s professional yet personable approach makes Exhale stand out as a premier fitness destination. Back in the day, I was a personal trainer myself, and I KNOW I was never close to their level of knowledge, energy, and quality. Their ability to energize and inspire everone in the class is unmatched, and makes every workout session SO effective and exhilarating.
The other trainers are also all fantastic, so I kind of feel bad for only dropping the names of my two favorites.
But with all the above said, one thing is VERY clear -- these personal trainers are not only passionate about fitness but also deeply committed to their clients’ well-being.
I hope Exhale/Loews recognizes their outstanding contributions and appropriately compensates them for the insane the additional value they bring to Exhale. Maggie and Sami are more than just trainers; they are integral to the transformative experiences, and the overall concept, that Exhale promises and delivers.
I truly love this gym and the trainers involved so much, and after being a member for 2.5 years I have finally brought myself to write/leave a review.
Thank...
