Spelman College Bookstore — Local services in Atlanta

I am an alum who feels that the quality of merchandise has decreased over the years. The prices I noticed 10 years didnt make sense( a heavyweight hooded sweatshirt was similarly priced as a lightweight zippedhoodie). Recently purchased a few things. Spelman mom sweatshirt for a christmas gift, all the seams frayed or loosened after the first wash. Because it was not in new condition, I wasnt offered any type of compensation. The knit winter hat was cute but not for northern winters, and should be advertised as lightweight knit. The low profile baseball hat can only be worn if you hair is styled close to your head. For thosnof rocking natural styles, may want to forget about it....So ordering onlune and out state, wasnt thrilled with...

3/29/25 I visited the store and was lost originally and called the store for assistance and it seemed as if I were a bother to the rep that picked up the phone. And so instead I asked strangers on the street for directions.

Upon arriving to the store Deaja and peer were on the their personal phones and having a conversation and only paid mind to me to advise the store was closing. When I asked about T-shirts they stated they were upstairs, and when I asked if there was anyone upstairs for assistance they said no. The entire time I was in the store neither asked if I needed support or if I was looking for something specific.

I would recommend reminding them that they are working not...

I would love to give this store 5 stars but one of the workers was very rude to me. I was visiting the campus and really loved the atmosphere and so I decided I couldn’t leave without a souvenir. I bought a pink Spelman sweatshirt and while I was still in line with two other people in front of me, the cashier who was an older gentleman yelled at me and told me I couldn’t pay for the sweatshirt upstairs and to go downstairs.

I’m sorry I wasn’t aware, but there is a nicer way to inform someone of the rule. Luckily I received better service downstairs from the nice ladies, but I was slick about to put that sweatshirt back...
