This is a challenging review to post primarily because I want to give them a lower rating based on my service experience... BUT to be honest some of my experience is impacted by the my lack of understanding what type of facility this is.
I decided to go try Oak Street Eats after seeing a tiktok, where a young lady is raving about coming here almost everyday for food. At the time she did eat her food in the car, but at no time did she imply that there was not any accommodations to dine in. So I was under the impression that is was situated like a food court - it is not.
This is a kitchen co-op, that happens to have a large variety of providers that appear to serve really good food. With that being said you should place your order online beforehand. Trust me you will not get to see the different shops and what other diners are eating to help you make your decision.
One of the pros is that they have some vendors that are open late, I believe they colse a 3pm. We arrived at 11:15 and they were still busy when I left at 12:45... Yes, this timing is accurate it took an 1hr and 30min to get take out food!
Now to be honest it probably took us 15min to figure out what was going on and place our orders, but the rest of that time was waiting for food. After waiting about 40min we attempted to see if someone could check on the food, but no one was at the window. When I went back to the window at 12:35 they sent me away saying my food wasn't ready, a few minutes later they were looking for me because the food was somehow hidden where they didn't see it. So I had been waiting for heck knows how long when we could have been gone.
Fortunately, Chauncey's Kitchen food was worth the wait or they would be...
Read moreVisited the Oak Street Eats for the first time today and decided on Grits and Things for brunch. I am from out of town and had heard mixed reviews about it. I didn’t quite know how to order and there was no one in there to speak to. I finally spotted the kiosk but the one I went to on the left was broken. Moved over to the right and was able to place an order. I promptly received a message from Grits and Things. I waited in the car maybe 15-20 minutes if that. Picking up my food was very simple and I found a place to eat it fairly quickly enjoying the sites of Atlanta. The food was soooooooooo good! I would recommend the Fried Salmon grit bowl!!!!! I’ve been ruined with French toast with Flavor Rich in Suwannee…but Grits n Things definitely did a good job!
Edit: Went back with my son who ordered wings and I got a Cinnabon chicken n waffle from crazy Cajun. My son said the wings were good…and I will agree the wings I had were but the waffle not so much. This time our order took 45 min to get as even though it showed the order was in progress Crazy Cajun never even started the order until 25 minutes after the original completion time we had to go in and ask for assistance to get our order completed ….took about 15-20 min after that for...
Read moreAvoid at All Costs – 0/5 Oak Street Eats was a complete disaster. All 20+ “restaurants” are crammed into a single shared kitchen, which is already concerning—but even worse, they’ve received different health inspection scores despite operating from the same space. The place felt unclean, disorganized, and chaotic from the start.
Our food was over 30 minutes late and barely edible—poor quality, looked nothing like the menu photos, and tasted like reheated, club-grade frozen meals. Prices were shockingly high, even more than downtown spots, yet the food and service were far below fast food standards.
The pickup process was infuriating. Self-serve lockers with no staff assistance left us waiting around clueless for nearly an hour. Parking is also completely inadequate for the volume of customers they try to serve.
This is not a legitimate dining experience—just a cash grab with no regard for quality, cleanliness, or...
