Went here last week for the first time with my husband after cleaning out my library in our house. As an avid book reader, I was so excited to go here. The process of selling your books to them is a little confusing. They have containers out that we assumed you take to your car to get all of the books and bring them in.......wrong. we took 3 of them because that's how many it said you could do at one time. We came back in and the unprofessionalism started there. The boy that was doing the buy back process yelled to us that "just to let us know the containers are never allowed to leave the store" in the most embarrassing way possible. You didn't have to let the whole store know, you could have let us know at the register. Why have the containers out if you can't bring them to your car? If people only have a few books to bring in, i get it, they can bring a tote in. But, I had 4 huge boxes to bring in. As an introverted book lover who is diagnosed with anxiety, I felt so uncomfortable being there, after feeling like a child who was in trouble with their parents. I walked around until they told us it was done and I took the cash. Will never return there. I will be donating all the books to my local goodwill from now on. Thank god my husband was with me. He's extroverted and can handle situations like that. He was the only saving grace through the whole process. Also, they charge waaaaay too much for books there. I saw a book I really wanted for half the price on Kindle and bought it while looking around the store with no intentions of buying anything. 1 star to the employees, they were all rude and not approachable whatsoever. To the employees, especially the boy who "helped" my husband and I: the majority of your customers are introverts. Maybe think about that the next time you want to ridicule one of them. I assume the boy who helped me will never read this and could care less what I have to say,...

Let me tell you something â walking into 2nd & Charles is like stepping into a treasure chest that exploded in the coolest way possible. This place is a temple for bookworms, vinyl junkies, pop culture freaks, gamers, and old-school heads like me who still believe in flipping pages and dropping needles.
From the jump, the vibe hits different. The smell of old books, fresh manga, and pre-owned nostalgia smacks you in the face like a freight train full of awesome. We're talking aisles upon aisles of used books, comic books, graphic novels, rare editions, and shelves loaded with movies that donât suck (yes, they still exist). You like retro games? They got 'em. Vinyl? They got crates that'd make Jerry Garcia nod in approval. Funkos, D&D gear, anime, guitars, and even typewriters â all under one roof.
Staff? Cool as hell. Not the fake âcan I help you?â types, but real folks who actually know their stuff and donât mind nerding out with you for 20 minutes over which Batman run was the darkest.
Best part? Buy/Sell/Trade. You bring in your old stuff, they donât lowball you like a pawn shop in a bad neighborhood. They give you credit, cash, or store juice, and you walk out with new gear â or walk back in two days later because you couldnât stop thinking about that boxed GameCube or a first-print King novel.
Iâve burned hours in this place like it was 1989 and there was a Dead show tonight. Zero regrets. If you havenât hit up 2nd & Charles in Auburn Hills, youâre missing out on one of the few places left that...
Read moreThe store itself could use a make over... The game section seems like it was alphabetized by someone with dyslexia, and a lot of the comics and action figures are poorly displayed, which they have some nice big ticket items in that store way under market value.
The buy back department is also lacking as well. I brought in sealed vinyls from the 50's/60's and they turned them away, but took my crappy dvds and gave me 90$ store credit. I chuckled and said ok, ended up selling those vinyls for 200 on craigslist anyway.
The store manager Julie is a sweet heart and never fails to help anyone the best she can. She goes out of her way to make sure she can find what you're searching for, and if not, she has a clerk put you in the system to notify you when they get that certain movie, or game.
A couple of the people that work there seem to be inconvenienced when they deal with you, which is a shame, because I do enjoy this store.
I give it 4 stars mainly because as someone pointed out, every time you go in, there's new things to look at... but it shouldn't be a scavenger hunt to find the new items.
I'd rate 5 stars if the buy back department would make accurate purchases instead of flooding the store with 19 copies of the same game/movie, and if they got prices right on some items...
A tip for businesses I shouldn't be able to buy from you, and make a profit... I've seen 200$ comic books marked at 1$.... Not good for you,...
