Arrived sat at my table 5 minutes before the manager came and started my service and finding out who my server was. So then gave my server my hot pot and drink order. I got up to check out the buffet and sauce bar, I must say looked amazing 👏. Came back to my table still no hot pot. So started on my spring rolls and salad and commenced to ordering items for my hot pot. After ordering everything got back up to go grab some sauces and ingredients for my BBQ. Came back to my table to see all my ingredients for my hot pot but still no hot pot to put them in. So waved down my server and asked how long it would be to get my hot pot? He said he would go grab it. 3 mins later another server bought it out. So dumped all my ingredients into my hot pot. By this point I been there a good half hour still no beverage so reminded my server about it and he finally went and got it. Then I realized I didn't have a ladel for my hot pot so got up and went to try and get one myself. So then ordered my bbq items they all came out fine. Bye then I had finished my first beverage completely I sat in on the edge of my table as to alert my server I needed a refill he literally walked past it twice before I finally stopped him and asked him if I could get a refill. Then came time to pay first time he bought me a empty folder. Then he came back but had forgot to charge me for my soda so instead of taking it back decided to just tell me what the actual total was after I'm guessing he added it on his handheld device. Then, the ten minute wait for him to return with my change that was incorrect. Wasn't off by much so didn't make a big deal about it and just left. I understand it's their first day. Will return and update my review. Still recommend them. Hopefully service gets better as they are way closer than the other two locations. OAN: The hood was so low that it was hard to cook on the grill. Something the other two locations don't do they lower it about 2 feet above the grill mine was like less than a foot away from the grill making it hard too cook and spray my...
Read moreIve been meaning to leave a review since my friends and I went the second day after opening. This place was wonderful! I recently moved to michigan from new york and when I missed hotpot so when I saw this we were all excited, and 5 minutes from our homes?!?
To people who havent tried hotpot, its an asian restaurant style dining experience where you cook your own food. Sure there are options to purchase but it’s mostly you cooking the meat/veggies you order. Which is nice if you have dietary restrictions. They dont use butter on the grill but oil, its not necessary to use it but it makes cooking easier just fyi. Its a lot of fun and if youre unsure of how to cook things the staff will show you if you ask nicely. Theres also cooking times on each table so that’s helpful. Please be kind to them because they are new and still learning things, and we want them to stay so that we can continue to eat here!!! They do charge you for every pound of uneaten food but thats a common practice for hotpot places, so order what you know you will eat one by one (they bring out dishes quickly), and then gauge it from there.
The soup bases were delicious! My only comment is that the Szechuan soup base isnt all that spicy but I understand the cooks probably dont want to scary away the uncultured “red blooded american’s” 🙄😭 that commenter clearly doesnt understand hotpot or asian cuisine and needs some more spices in their life!
Cant wait for this place to grow and add more food and vegetable options! Definitely coming back soon with...
Read moreMy family ate there today to try it out for the first time, 7 people. We were super confused from the start, asked our waiter numerous times how to order food, what to do, how this place worked, even handed him the tablet for help. Zero help. We finally just ordered ALL the things to grill or stick in our hot pots. No sauces, no sides, we were just really confused.
After over an hour of trying to figure out how to start eating, getting Meats, veggies and our soup bases and working to cook them and figure out where to put them, I took my son to the bathroom and I saw it... the buffet bar of food, sauces, bowls, plates, utensils, hot soup ingredients, and all the things that would make a korean entrée, with sides and desserts...
We literally begged our waiter for help in understanding what to do and couldn't get the most basic instructions ever. How it works. We paid for all you can eat hot plates and bbq, and we didn't even know about the buffet after asking several times what to do. As they came by we were literally frustrated and not understanding and no one explained anything. Now that I know how it works after 2 hours of a really frustrating and expensive experience, I would love to try it again and do it right. But omg, a little bit of direction and telling your customers how to make edible plates and that there is a buffet bar hidden in the back might help people with figuring out how to actually eat here and enjoy the incredible food...
