I recently had a highly disappointing experience at the Auburn Best Buy, and I feel compelled to share it to warn others. I purchased an open box Samsung TV that was advertised as being in “excellent condition,” complete with all parts, looking like new, and in original packaging. However, upon opening the box at home, it became clear that this was far from the case.
First and foremost, there was no original packaging to be found. The accessories were haphazardly thrown into a box, and many of the bolts were either missing or just thrown into the box loose. The instruction manual was completely missing. To make matters worse, the remote was missing entirely, and the bracket needed to set up the TV was also absent. This is not what I expected from a product labeled as “excellent condition.”
When I contacted online customer service for assistance, I was met with a complete lack of helpfulness. After driving over an hour to return the TV, I was hoping for a resolution, but the in-store staff was equally unhelpful. They offered no apologies and suggested I either take a refund or “look around at other stores,” which felt like an utter lack of care and professionalism.
This experience has left me frustrated and disillusioned with Best Buy. The time and gas I wasted on this trip are disappointing, and I cannot trust this store to deliver on its promises. Read moreScheduled a radio install at this location because they had the earliest available at 2 weeks out. When I show up to my 10:00am appointment, no one is at the install bay. A few minutes later 2 gentleman walk right past me, unlock the door and proceed inside. Not a greeting or any type of hello as they walked right past where I had been waiting. I proceed to follow them inside only to be told, "our lobby is closed, go wait outside!". Again this was my first greeting by either employee. I then proceed to wait outside for 10 more minutes before they finally roll up the doors. They still offer no greeting of any kind but confirm they will be installing a double din in my truck and asked where my parts were. I advised them that they should have the parts as they shipped here when I paid at the other store. Very rudely, the guy says, "you have to go to customer pickup first and get your parts." None of this was explained to me as a customer but I guess I should've known. I could go on and on about how unprofessional they were after the install as well. Didn't show me anything or confirm that everything worked. Just handed me my keys and asked me to sign here. I then tested everything on my own while this guy stood there with a dumb look on his face. Go to any other location. These guys don't care at all even when you bring it up to management. Read more5 stars BUT one caution. I was resistant to go to this Best Buy because I had such a lousy experience at the Roseville Best Buy store. Stephanie and the other staff who helped me with a new cell phone purchase were EXCELLENT!!! IF my phone is really delivered and ready to go as promised this Friday, I will send an update on this review. My only warning for anyone in a hurry (and let's face it, that is frequently what can happen if your phone suddenly breaks like mine...) they have VERY FEW staff members who can help with phones. They did say that you can make a reservation, BUT I have never had any luck trying to call and speak to anyone at the actual store. I would suggest popping into the store and hope you get lucky. If not, have a back-up plan to make an appointment there onsite and go run some errands or something. When I arrived someone was getting their first phone and learning how to use Gmail. The tech was very patient and that was nice to see with someone from a much older generation needing to switch to a cell phone. My mother went through that in her 80's and that can be a difficult (but fruitful) transition. Okay, good luck with your trip to this Best Buy. Plan ahead if you can. IF you need repairs I highly recommend the place next door to Belair which is just a couple minutes away....
