I've never felt so abused in a home improvement store. Bought a Cub Cadet riding mower on the 6th, brand new. Filled it with gas. Took it home. Couldn't get it to start. Not even to unload it from the trailer. Figured, it's new...Maybe it just has to get started and get the fluids moving. Had to wait until the weather was cooperative, tried to start it again...for over half an hour. No luck! Went back to Home Depot yesterday, and after finally finding a staff member (had to wait to finally get someone to talk to) explained to them what was going on with it. They make it seem like no big deal, just bring it down tomorrow. I work 10 hour days all week. So I get home, have to hustle to get a hold of someone to borrow a trailer again, load it up (still not able to start it so that was a workout in itself.) Drive it all the way back to the store. The employee, Karl says they "have to take a look at it." Okay, fine. Goes out and has a look at it and it does the same thing it's been doing at home, cranking but not kicking over. On the next try he gets it going. Then continues to say he can't explain why it wouldn't start before. I figure it's probably some kind of defect, but I don't want a refund...just another mower so I can FINALLY get my yard cut. Karl keeps saying he can't guarantee a new mower won't do the same thing. Really? Then why do you sell a brand if you can't be assured that it will be operational in the first place? Then had to wait for another 15 mins to hear what the store manager, who never even bothers to come speak with us directly, has to say about it. Here comes Karl again, to say, "Well it's working, so we can't take it back. But if you take it home and it happens again, we'll send someone to your home and have I serviced." Waste of my day! Can't get anything done now, all because of a damn mower! Read that damn manual front to back and it should have started. Did everything by the book. Karl then continued to raise his voice to me, all the while acting like I'm trying to pull some kind of scam. Finally just wanted a refund. And after continuing arguing with me, and trying to talk over the top of me, he finally issued the refund. If I had known I was going to go through all this hassle just to end up in the same place I started; with an overgrown lawn and once AGAIN, no mower I would have just taken my business elsewhere! Read moreI bought carpet from them and was suppose to get it installed on the 15th of April. The people they subcontract for the install which is crew 2 out of fort wayne called me 23 hours before our install to tell us that our carpet was on back order and we couldn't get the install. we already moved everything out of our house and took off work for this and boarded the animals.we asked why we didn't get notified earlier and jen from crew 2 told me that home depot had just notified her the night before to let her know . So I called home depot . They basically said that it isn't there problem bc once the order is placed it is the mill and the installers issues but they made some call for me . After waiting all day I found out that apparently Jen from crew 2 was notified last week about the delay but she was on vacation and crew 2 doesn't have anyone else handle the orders and scheduling so she lied to me .second home depot said sorry about your luck but we get nothing for the inconvenience and the lost wages .if I wouldve at least know another day in advance I wouldn't of been so upset but once I found out the lady flat out lied I no longer want to do business with them and home depot didn't offer anyone else for install and flat out told me they do less and less business with them bc of there customer service or at least that is what the manger drew told me so why they think im going to let them do my install now that I know how bad there customer service is bc if they do something wrong I do not want to fight .weeks prior I had issues with Jen when trying to schedule my kitchen floor install .she wouldn't schedule weeks out bc home depot was still waiting for 1 floor reducer and she told me they can't schedule anything till all products come in .so I called home depot and they told me all my stuff was in and they already informed her of that and she didn't call me back for 2 days .once she did she told me they could install the carpet 4 days after the hardwood but that didn't work for our schedule so what I want to know is why did she schedule it if all the stuff was not in bc that was her supposed policy . Read moreWe went in here to pick up a statue that we purchased online. The store was clean everything seemed okay until we got up to the checkout. The first lady that showed my husband where to pick up the statue was very nice we hadn't waited very long so that was good, there were several Associates at the customer service desk. We want to get in line to check out the rest of the stuff that we had and I seen the self-checkout was open so we went to it and I noticed 2 gentleman at the first self checkout we're waiting on help, the checkout itself was repeating over and over customer needs assistance at the self-checkout. We scanned our items and notice that the plants we got weren't coming up at the right price so I pressed the help button and Mighty Machines started saying customer needs assistance at the self-checkout and I noticed that the two men that were standing at the first one still hadn't received help. It has been way too long oh, so I decided I wasn't going to wait and when I turned around to look for someone I noticed an associate standing in the next checkout lane about 5 feet away, and I alerted her to the fact that the two men had been standing there for a long time with their machines asking for help and she acted very rude when she came over. So I instructed her to help them in because they had been waiting way too long and then when she came over to help us she just acted like she had much better things to do. But the fact that she was standing right there listening to those two machines going off and not helping tells a lot about what kind of a person she is or worker I should say.
