Do not go here simply because you purchased your bridesmaids outfits from David's Bridal and their color swatches match. Go to David's Bridal, buy your color swatches (I think they're $2 each) and take your business elsewhere.
Service is absolutely horrible and the way the rental service works is equally horrible.
We went in two months before the wedding to rent my fiances' and my sons' tuxes. We were under the impression that they would let him at least try some things on. While he did get to try on the jacket and the shoes (which they didn't offer a wide shoe so he didn't get to order those), he didn't get to test out a vest or a tie so it was almost impossible to envision what the entire piece would look like together. The woman who assisted us the first time was rude and impatient. I understand that when you deal with something everyday you get tired of people asking the same questions, but this was our first experience in tux rental and we had no idea how it would work. For example, I wondered what would happen if he ordered the bow tie and turned out to not like the look and she got an attitude and told me that they would have to charge us separate for another tie- in addition to the bow tie we'd already chosen. The "No, sweetie" in an annoyed tone got old really quick. Yet I'm standing next to an entire display of ties available for purchase in the store, why couldn't they just switch one of those out for the bow tie? Her response was that everything was customized (lady they're literally just throwing in a tie, chill out.) So throughout the entire process she just became more and more inpatient and rude. When they went over pricing and everything, she didn't even really mention how much in total everything was. Just how much the deposit was and then we would owe the remainder when we went to pick them up. By the end of it all we were so relieved to be leaving the store.
A month later I called in to see how much was left on our balance and how long the groomsmen had to reserve their tuxes (a few didn't get to rent and one of them could potentially have to order late.) Then they told me that we still owed $109 on my sons' tux after paying a $20 deposit. The price was WAY more than I expected. $130 for a child's tux??? I asked them to cancel his tux and I went and purchased one from WalMart for $20, we already had dress shoes for him and we bought a tie to match. $30 in comparison to $130 is definitely a better option and I doubt it would have looked much different. She told me that I would get a refund for the $20 and I asked her, over the phone, to put that towards the remaining balance to my fiances' tux. The woman told me over the phone that she couldn't do that and that we would need to do it in person when we picked up my fiances' tux.
We went to day to pick up the tux and the staff was again rude and impatient. The lady who assisted my fiance get dressed was obviously annoyed and impatient. You could tell she was just ready for the shift to end, which I completely understand, but you are in customer service, you cannot let your customer know you feel this way. I'm a nurse and if I did this with a patient I would be written up. She at one point told my fiance that she didn't like his shoes (we brought our own because they didn't have a wide in his shoe size.) When he mentioned that he wasn't sure about the length of his pants she got a little huffy "Well what's wrong with it?" While they were trying on his tux, I was speaking with the desk staff regarding the $20 refund. The cashier brought the account up and said "This shows that we only owe you $1.26" Um, no Ma'am, you better check again! So she then went and got the manager, who had to call the corporate office. The $20 was eventually approved, but were they thinking I would just let it go? Forget about it?
The tux looks fine, the coloring looks good together. But I definitely do not recommend this business. It was a horrible experience, with horrible...
Read moreThis place has the rudest, most unprofessional staff ever. And why NOT the Store Manager is rude so why should the employees be any better. I visited this place looking for my son a Tuxedo to rent, walk in and was told to scan the QR code and sign in and we did, we stood there for 15 minutes waiting for someone to even offer us for help even though the people who came in after us were somehow assisted first. Finally, Janice asked us if we had been helped, this lady looked the entire time as though she was annoyed and did not want to help us, clearly had a poor attitude and was ready to just give us in anything, once we were finished, she told us to go to the front of the store without telling us anything about what to expect and never explained to us what we were getting so we walked to the front of the store and the person checking us out was a young cashier and when I asked to clarify exactly what we were getting she told me, whatever, you all talked about when you were back there. I told her that she never told us exactly what we were getting and with an attitude she started reading off the receipt and rudely told me, "it's on your receipt!' In the end, I decided to take my business else where. I refuse to give my money to a business that treats their...
Read moreI arrived as soon as they opened this am … understanding that’s it’s wedding and prom Season…. So it will be busy. There’s a QR code you can scan to check on which is a wonderful Idea. The staff were very courteous and helpful. During checkout the lady helping us had to answer a call and I could hear the customer on the phone yelling and being very rude…… it was unacceptable but the lady helping me handled it with professionalism and maintained her patience.
For those who Do not or have never worked in the service industry it is very challenging … and during these times most places are short staffed. …..so if they are helping a customer they may not always have the time to answer the call….. at the end of the day was it really that serious to call and scream at someone on the phone. Look at the world around us ….remember you can get more out of being positive versus being negative and really that behavior never accomplishes anything. Kudos to the staff at Men’s Warehouse for all that you do And others in a service industry especially when dealing with rude customers.
Keep in mind they are the only Men’s Warehouse servicing Augusta…. Have patience, plan, come early you can reserve as soon as you know you have a...
