PERMANENT DAMAGE, PLEASE READ!! It took me a few months to write this review because I was so traumatized by my experience here. I came in for a regular facial and had the add on of dermabrasion. When I went to my appointment and I told Chandler I was on the strongest level of tretinoin and that she should avoid the dermabrasion, she agreed and told me she would do a chemical peel instead. I told her my 30th birthday was in 2 days and could not afford any downtime and should skip the peel. I had made multiple plans including going to Cancun with my family to celebrate this important milestone. She assured me there would be no downtime and that this was a very weak chemical peel. I warned her about being in sunny Cancun and once again, told her I really didn’t think I should get a chemical peel but she insisted I would love it. After the peel, she applied multiple other things to my face, all which burned (which I thought was normal). Ends up everything after the peel was supposed to be “relaxing”. At one point she put a hot towel on my face and I felt like my face was on fire, I flung the towel across the room in a reflex response and yelled in pain. She said… “Ohh, that wasn’t supposed to hurt”. Btw, my dads a doctor and he connected me to a world renowned dermatologist who said you NEVER put hot towels on someone’s face after a chemical peel and absolutely never give a chemical peel to anyone taking tretinoin (let alone the strongest dose.) He told me you learn this stuff on like day 1 of being an esthetician.

After my appointment was finished and I finally had the chance to look at my face in the mirror, I was horrified. My skin looked like I had just come from a chemical war zone and I was in immense pain. I was not able to go on my trip (I lost over $2,000 for it as I had to cancel last second due to this women’s very avoidable mistake). I also canceled all my birthday plans and stay inside with the blinds drawn for 2 weeks. I was not even able to go to the grocery store. I was incredibly traumatized by this and even though I’m a skin care junky, I’m too scared to even get a facial again. This woman never acknowledged what she did was wrong and kept mentioning how surprised she was that I was affected. She did not even think to offer me the money back for over 24 hours…(I’m assuming someone knocked some sense into her). I still have permanent burns that remind me of this experience every day. If you care about your face, go...

Where do I even begin?! Ella at Sun Up Skin is an angel crafted from all the gods and higher beings. Not only is she incredible at tending to ANY and all sort of skin needs, her approach to creating the ultimate experience for the client is unlike any other. As someone who has dealt with acne for 15 years, I've seen my very fair share of estheticians. With all my facial experience (I should be titled Pro Facialist at this point, tbh), I can say with my whole chest Ella is the one who has single handedly made a difference in my skin health and journey. Her touch IS a magical touch, trust me! In the 5 consistent months I've been seeing her, I've seen more progress in my skin than a decade +! I wish so badly I could just fit her in my pocket and have her by my side at all times. Much like her touch, her energy is so peaceful and radiant. I cannot image my life, let alone a MONTH, without carving out an hour with her to work magic on my skin. Hopefully Ella knows that if I ever leave the country or move elsewhere, she will have no other choice but to pack her bags and family and follow me. My skin has found their forever favorite person, esthetician, angel! Thank you, Ella! And thank you Sun Up Skin for creating such an incredible space that makes tending to skin health feel like the best therapy appointment you could ever do for yourself. Much love and gratitude...

My BFF got me a gift certificate for a facial at Sun Up Skin for Christmas. I finally got to use it and it was beyond AMAZING!

Cassidy Stearns took such great care of me. From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out she made me feel so warm and comfortable. She was so sweet and friendly and had such a peaceful, like a healing energy. Her knowledge and technique were incredible. She answered all my questions and literally put me on cloud nine. I can't remember the last time I felt so good and relaxed. I swear, even the rush hour traffic I had to drive in after my appointment couldn't penetrate the glorious and tranquil place I was in. Also, I smelled so good and my skin felt so refreshed. I truly felt like a pampered queen.

Plus, it's located in an adorable old Austin house on Rio Grande and the atmosphere was so peaceful, and welcoming and it just smelled so nice, like being hugged with aromatherapy. I honestly can't say enough about Cassidy Stearns and Sun Up Skin. Can't wait to go back and try the other services they offer. It was my first time there and I will definitely be back.

Trust me, book an appointment with Cassidy Stearns and you'll be blown away by how good she will make you feel.

Thank...

Highly recommend a facial with Chandler if you’re looking to deeply relax and leave with glowing skin. She is so talented and attentive to exactly what your skin needs. She is gentle with extractions and tailors the whole experience to your specific skin type.
