Charity five stars because im a bonvoy guy and this was a "boys trip" with my dad and brother. The last ac I stayed at was the outpost in the gaslamp district in San diego. Ive said it before and I'll say it again, there's nothing wrong with a minimalist corporate chain hotel, anyone who has traveled in small town uk/eu will tell you that even lower level American chain hotels beat most of what's on offer in other parts of the world. This spot shares a building with the Otis. The entry is lame, you have to go up one elevator and then a second elevator after the lobby. Lame. Unless im in New York or London there should be no reason for that. Front of house ssrvice was very good, well mannered indian dudes, who im seeing on offer these days all over the country (portland, boston, san francisco in past year(not a problem or a complaint). Room was what you'd expect at an ac. Housekeeping was well meaning but not particularly effective, they missed their cleaning window (8 am to 4pm) 2 of 3 days and showed up knocking at 5 pm when I was in the shower getting ready for dinner and I actually had to explain to them in Spanish that they had to come back when we were at dinner. I think they are probably just understaffed. Didn't try the bar or feeding area, both of which looked sad and uninspired. Pro tip is park in the neighborhood and save the 50 dollar a day(!) Parking fee. 50 dollars for parking in Austin? Get out of here. Its the university area but austin is small enough that it doesnt matter where you stay, imo.

Nothing was open the website, Marriott Bon Voyage and these other reviews are misleading there is no pool and everything else (rooftop, breakfast) if it’s there I didn’t see it. The front desk staff made so many mistakes on my bill for my 3 day stay. I asked that my stay be charged to one card and my incidentals to another. Imagine to my chagrin when the card given for incidentals had four holds on it 1. $733.00 2. $600 3. $240.00 and 4. 1,200.00. All over the 150 incidentals hold amount. I spoke to three desk agents a manager and each told me not to worry. Said they’d take the second card off the reservation entirely. While I was there some of the holds fell off and the rest came off when I returned home. All of a sudden almost a week later there is a $2,256.40 charge on the card that I was told had been removed as a form of payment. There are holds on the correct card for $346.80 and $322.80 a total of $670.60 which is the total of my stay. I called yet again to see why I was charged on a card the was supposed to be removed an amount three times more than my stay. I was sent directly to the hold que and on hold for 2 hours no front desk staff picked up. I called corporate opened a case from a second phone all while still on hold with the hotel property. I am a Marriott Bon Voyage Member and I’ve stayed at several properties over the years but I will never stay in an AC hotel ever again this entire experience has left a stain on those properties for me. The two stars were given because the one cleaning lady? who works there was awesome I question if she was part of cleaning because it seemed like she had multiple jobs. I stayed for 3 nights June 5-7 2022 and I am still dealing with the mistakes of a poorly trained I’m guessing front desk team over a week later and we all know how long chargebacks can take and disputes with you credit card company as well so I’ll be dealing with this for...

Although this hotel lacks some of the finer amenities that other posher hotels have--like hot tub and bathrobes--it excels at the basic features that everyone really wants out a hotel, i.e. quality of rooms and bathrooms.

The rooms and bathrooms go beyond simply being a place to stay overnight. They are beautiful places that are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It's a clean room (literally) and has a modern decor and color scheme. I happened to stay in double queen bedroom, and the room space errs on the smaller side. What it lacks in space though, it makes up for in aesthetics. Perhaps I may be a bit biased though, as I appreciate modern interior design to traditional vintage interior designs.

But I digress. The bathroom is simple, but also looks sleek enough to be instagram-worthy. The shower is a fountain shower with all the necessary toiletries included.

Even the TV in the room is nice. It's an actual HD LG flat screen TV; not some random bargain bin 10 yr old LCD screen. It comes with cable, HBO, and other streaming services (that you have a subscription to).

As for the location, it's adjacent to the University of Texas. This can work to your advantage depending on if you're visiting UT--for say, an academic reason. If you're looking to enjoy the nightlife entertainment of South Downtown Austin, then there are some other better hotels location-wise.

Overall, this hotel will provide you all the basics, and then some. What's also worth mentioning is that the parking here ($32/night) is cheaper than the posher hotels. The one area that it lacks in is regarding some of the finer amenities. But, if we're being honest, with so many hotels closing their community amenities (due to Covid-19), is it really that big of a...

My daughter stayed at the AC for 6 weeks since her west campus apartment building was not ready for move in. The rooms were beautiful, stylish, well appointed. It was very sleek and modern. The Air Conditioning was amazing! The hotel staff was terrific, very friendly, helpful, and accommodating ! The beds were very comfortable (I stayed with my daughter two weekends when I came to visit). The noise isolation was terrific. You could not hear others in neighboring rooms, and you could only hear things like sirens, but not the road noise even though her room faced the road. The location is terrific if you want to be close to the university!

The bathroom was different than most. It was an open concept. It worked fine for my daughter because she was alone, and most couples may not mind, but it's an open concept bathroom - so no door to the bathroom. The toilet room is private of course, and he shower glass is opaque, but if you wanted privacy to change you would have to do so in the toilet room. There was a double sided mirror the divided the vanity area from the rest of the room so the vanity was pretty open. You would have to see pictures to understand. The setup would not be ideal if one person wanted to sleep while the other was getting ready since there were no walls to block the light and noise. I do believe the rooms with two beds have a regular bathroom. They also have a 24 hour well equipped gym. One note, they only have a few refrigerators available upon request so it's hit or miss if you can get one. Also, they do not have cots.

Overall, my daughter had an incredible stay and the AC will be our first choice to stay whenever we...
