I placed the order on Monday (for a wheelchair and hospital bed pickup. I confirmed it on Tuesday; the XMED agent said the pick up would be Wednesday, at 11AM, enabling Hospice to bring their equipment on Thursday.
Very specifically, XMED said if I wasn't there, the equipment would NOT be picked up. I started calling after 12 PM. At 3PM (on Tuesday) an XMED rep.said a truck was headed my way (from South Austin)......so I waited. He never called and he didn't show, so I waited all day and did not get to Christopher House to see my husband. Hospice DID show up with a bed but couldn't bring it in because of the existing equipment.
The next morning (Wednesday) I resumed my calls to XMED.....no response. I must have called a dozen times. When I finally reached them they said they "had no way to contact the drivers (Dana). Again, they were very specific......it I wasn't there (and at Christopher House), the equipment would NOT be picked up. I asked how they had contacted the driver the day before.....and I asked to have the manager call me.
My daughter, Alisha, finally called Christopher House and Keisha, I think, got involved. It was finally resolved and after the XMED pick-up, Hospice came back with their supplies. After all of that, I was finally able to get in my car and go see my husband.
This is a very stressful time for me and this experience made it worse. That said, we are very grateful for the WONDERFUL, CARING STAFF and volunteers at Christopher House. Read moreMy husband was Rx a CPAP machine and had a scheduled appointment on the May 6th at 2pm. He was checked in at 2pm but sat for 30 mins without any other acknowledgement. So, he was not trained by the Tech or Rep that he scheduled to show him how to properly use this machine because he was not told if they were behind in their schedule or if the appointment ahead was running longer than usual. This would have been key for any customer taking the time to make a schedule out of their busy day waiting to be seen! The lack of professionalism and courtesy was totally inconvenient for us! Thank God for YouTube and the many pieces of manuals in the equipment. The huge fail is the Respiratory Tech or whoever that was to train my husband didn’t even call to confirm the Rx Tidal Volume O2 setting since my husband had to leave to make a business appointment. If it was going to be an hour long appointment. The appointment scheduling customer service representative should have advised him of that, so then he could possibly overlook the long wait. NO, I SERIOUSLY doubt it!!! Read moreX-Med has proven to be the WORST company I have dealt with concerning billing. I paid a bill in Sept. 2020 and in Oct. I received another bill saying my first bill had not been paid and I now owed that amount plus a $15 late fee. I checked my bank statement online and did not see the cancelled check, so I was afraid it had been lost in the mail. I went ahead and wrote another check for this same bill, including the late fee and mailed it. About 2 days later I'm checking my bank statement and see both checks to X-Med had cleared. I called X-Med and explained the situation and they assured me I would be refunded the total amount of the bill plus the late fee. This was around the last week of October. As of today, Dec. 3rd, I have received nothing from X-Med. I have called them at least a dozen times. Most times, I have to leave my name and call back number, but rarely I get a live person who will "check" on this and get back to me. They never get back to me. I have been getting my cpap supplies from them for 5 years and up to now, I thought they were a good company. Not anymore.
