Writing this review after this incident happened⌠My girlfriend and I have taken a trip out here to Catalina Island to be alone for a couple days. Me and her walked out tonight to get some food and we stopped by Lloydâs candy store since my girlfriend has a love for sour candies. We looked around she saw nothing she wanted and we left. We then made our way to get food and we sat down to eat and look at the ocean view of the night. Not even 5 minutes after we sat down a male worker walked up and accused us of stealing with the only witness of course being two Elder White women. Iâm brown so you know where this is going. Anyways the worker walks up and then tells us to come pay for what we stole. My girlfriend then argues back because we didnât take anything, the man then is trying to get me to take side with him to say that my girlfriend stole from their store. We were willing to be checked and wanted them to roll through tapes to prove we stole but he refused to do either. Spending a fair amount of money to have a good time and then being racially profiled is not what I expected on this trip. I expect a full apology or further civil right action will be...
Read moreOnce you spend your money in this store you understand why the no samples policy. If you taste it before you buy it the store would go out of business. The candy is stale and tasteless. Probably the worst spent $45 in candy of my life. The kicker? I asked for 2 different flavored Ice-cream cones, they made a mistake and put 2 scoops in one cone. When I said "no, I wanted 2 different Ice-cream cones" they proceeded to try and separate the 2 scoops to put them on 2 separate cones. I was like woah, no! Just forget it. And because they had mutilated my Ice-cream they put the cone in a very flimsy shallow dish that I can't imagine what it could be for. We ate the Ice-cream that was bland compared to good Ice-cream (I'm an expert) and the candy? We all tasted one of the pieces of each of the little bags and the rest ended up in the garbage. Even the fudge was old and dry. Worst candy of my life. I feel like I...
Read moreOf course I researched everything before I went on my vacation so I knew where I wanted to go and what I wanted to buy and apparently Lloyd's of Avalon was the place to go to get some salt water taffy. That sounds like a classic treat when you're on an island in Southern California. However the taffy that I bought was sickly sweet and pretty hard. I regret my purchase. There wasn't much else that looked appealing there either. I guess if you're in the mood for a caramel apple or something. But if you're hoping for some delicious salt water taffy than just hold out and maybe buy some somewhere else because I was definitely disappointed and I barely ate any of my...
