I took a beautiful selfie of two images. One three years ago of me carefully cutting a cigar ash from inside my 1996 White Ford Ranger to look like an arrow hitting the bullseye of the Target insignia during the summer. The other was during a windy night during Christmas rush, minutes before Security cleared out the parking lot of me holding the summer bullseye with a matching shirt and hat of me with the inscription āIām not a talker. Iām a writer.ā (āThatās why I have more to say.). Last week I bought a friendly letter that The Target Corporation mailed me asking me by first name if I lost my Target Red Card because I hadnāt used it in a while. I had it and bought it because I hadnāt been able to afford Target merchandise, along with a laminated photograph of the image with a hand written note (also laminated) with something close to thisā¦Date: 02/??/2025 9:3?/PM āTo all my friends at the Bakersfield Target Store ⦠Enjoy my Brian William āTell Spellman offering to you!ā (Itās misplaced in my apartment from apathy and futility, nothing more than a souvenir now.) I went inside the store and couldnāt afford anything but asked the Cashier if I could speak to the Manager? Before she could speak I said, āHello, are you the Manager?ā He said āYes.ā I said that I made this tributary artwork and wondered if I could sell it to the store to hang somewhere. Itās already signed by me?ā He said, āNo, weāre not interested.ā I said (because he said āweā), āPerhaps another Manager would have a different opinion?ā He said āIām the only Manager.ā He turned his back and I asked, āCould someone take my phone and take a picture of me posing with my artwork and he mumbled āNo, and just walked away. Ā Ā Ā Read moreBefore this visit, I hadn't been to Target in about two years. I had placed an order online and this visit was to pick it up. However, when I made my online order it was for the Target on Rosedale. But apparently, when there are items in your order that are out of stock, they automatically send the order for those items to a different location. So, I not only had to pick up an order from the location on Rosedale, which was a ridiculous experience in itself, but also had to make a trip to this location to get the rest of my items. And let me tell you....poor Connie. You guys ought to be ashamed of yourselves, making that nice lady run both the pick-up station for online orders as well as the station for exchanges and returns. She is such a sweetheart and was very apologetic for making me have to move from the pick-up station to the back of the line for exchanges and returns. She made sure to attempt to help me in the in the order that I had arrived before other customers had already gotten in line for their returns. But I told her not to worry about it, and thanked her anyway. Then her handheld scanner wouldn't work, and the poor thing had to get the last four digits of my order number and hunt for it in another part of the store. Considering how execute your customer service, it's no surprise how you have no regard for your employees. I think, I'll just stick with Walmart. At least there i know...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI started using curbside pick up during the pandemic with Targets main competitor. The wait times were always lengthy, substitutions were frequent, and you had to set an appointment time for your pick up. At some point I started using Target instead, and the process was so much better. My order is always ready within two hours, even during busy times. Substitutions are rarely needed. Also, I have done some extensive price comparisons between Target, their main competitor (starts with a W), and some of the discount grocery chains. Not only are Target prices competitive with these places, but if you are a red card member, youāll get 5% off every purchase. This is not a credit card, but acts like a debit card using your checking account. There are no fees. On top of this discount, Target frequently offers very valuable coupons. On the last price comparison I did, I saved $40 by shopping at Target vs one of the āgroceries for lessā chains. Their app is very easy to use and with each item you put in your shopping cart, the app will tell you if there is a coupon you can apply. From order to pick up, the process is easy, convenient, and Target saves me money. What more can...
