Valley Plaza — Local services in Bakersfield

Omg ok let's start from the beginning. My sister and I decided to have lunch here since neither of us have ever been. We show up at 12:25 p.m. lunch time, and it's actually pretty empty. We still at the front for 8 minutes, we debated whether we should just go or stay a mistake that we would end up regretting is that we stood. After 8 minutes of standing in line I'm assuming it's the hostess said sit anywhere. We then set down for 10 minutes before our menus were handed to us and I said can we order an appetizer and our drinks right now she said okay fine. After we received our appetizer which was the blooming onion we should have honestly just pay for our drinks and that and left. We stood and ordered lunch pastrami sandwich with the fries on a salad , and the roast beef sandwich with fries and a salad and 10 wings with the lemon pepper the sauce and honestly I can't even remember but it tasted just like buffalo sauce. When the bloomin Onion finally came the waitress apologized for it looking quote-unquote weird because they didn't have the correct machine to properly cut it. This was the most unappealing and tasting bloomin I took a photo the first layer was actually like they forgot to peel the outer skin or not even sure what it's called and decided to deep fry it and that's what was part of the onion the rest of the parts since it wasn't cut properly you were just basically pulling at the deep fried part of the onion was left behind . The pastrami sandwich had so much salt that I was unable to eat it. the fries were over-salted honestly everything here felt like it was seasoned insult but not even in a good way I felt like I had to drink a gallon of water by the time I left. A $50 lunch.she never brought our ticket to the table so as we stood to pay she asked if we were ready to leave I said yes she handed me the ticket and left I waited for another 7 minute she came back and said she didn't have change we waited for 5 minutes for change and decided to leave because she never came back. I wish I could get a refund I wish that I never walked into this place a total waste of money understaffed I'm assuming I'm not even sure they need new cooks this place is a total hype if you read the reviews on it or honestly I believe it's just a location but for this location I will never ever go and I recommend that nobody wastes their...

For the Valley Plaza Mall being as old as it is, you would think it would be better today, but it isn't. I know that a lot of people still choose to shop there as it is the only Mall in Bakersfield, but the Mall is truly a mess.

The Mall did a bad job of construction on new tile flooring,which if you go to the mall, you would see how many tiles are breaking and haven't even been there for that long. .. they also have some type of leakage going on in the food court and instead of repairing it, occasionally you'll see a bucket out in the open catching who knows.. but dirty water ?

Security is the hugest joke. You'll see them walking around as if they got some big guns or whatever but God forbid you actually call them to come to an issue going on. They could have 10 security guards working at a single time and if something were to happen, security is walking in the other direction, you ask them to check surveillance which they have tons of and they act as if they just don't know.. all are totally clueless and untrained by their bosses.

-Also, the bathrooms are never fully cleaned. Stalls stay out of service for months on months, there's a smell that never goes away even if those bathrooms are cleaned and also soap dispensers just plop open sometimes while full of soap.

This mall has potential to be better, but it lacks in a lot of things. Obviously people go here solely because there's no other choices but the management of this mall lowballs anything they try "improving". This Mall is old and needs so much more revamping to it. There's also a lot of unnecessary business that come and go in this mall but you'd have to wonder why they can't keep nice businesses opened. This Mall is all shoe stores and jewelry stores just about. There use to be more variety and there really isn't much variety anymore. I have always loved going to the mall here. Rather it's just that I'm looking around or came here to physically buy something. Also I do like going to APPLE STORE TO SEE What's NEW. The weather is always comfortable in the Valley Plaza. Sometimes I like to come here just to eat in the food court. Other times in here for Starbucks. Or Lucilles. Also Target is connected to the mall which is nice. I have been coming to this mall for about 25 years. Since I was a little kid. My Father even Lost a wallet here at the Mall with either $7,000.00 Or $8,000.00 Dollars in it. Here in this Mall and luckily someone turned it in and she said she thought with this much money it had to be drug money. HOWEVER NOPE not at all it wasn't. My Father was a Business Man. He owned His own Business As An Automachanic and was successful in the business he built right up until he got sick with Cancer and the last couple years of his life he lost his business and was so very weak and sick. I was 12 when he passed away. He was in The US NAVY for 10 years. I Miss him So much. He did everyone right.
