Texas Roadhouse — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I rarely give reviews on here but unfortunately this must be done. My wife, two toddlers and I went here for dinner. We had made a reservation and arrived early. We were told it would be a 45-50 minute wait which was expected. We were seated at about 35 minutes. This was around 6:00pm. We ordered our food after receiving our drinks and appetizer. We didn't see our waitress again for a little over an hour & 15 minutes. We were told our food was being prepared and would be out in a few minutes. 30 minutes go by and the manager comes and explains that our ticket was lost and they are cooking our food. She apologized and gave us a coupon for $15 off our next meal and asked if there was anything she could get us. By then we had all finished our drinks and needed refills and she said she would bring us refills. She never came back. 20 minutes go by and we had to ask a busboy for refills. At this time, somebody had turned the music up extremely loud and waitresses were line dancing. I am a rock musician and stand in front of a loud amp, but the level they turned that music to was very uncomfortable. My youngest started crying. After 10 minutes our food arrives. (We had to ask for our refills) My ribeye was good, my wife ordered the Beef Tips which was advertised as cuts of steak, was actually a cut up hamburger patty. We ordered the mac & cheese for one of my toddlers (whom is a picky eater) and it was advertised as "Kraft" mac & cheese. What we got were greasy elbow noodles with no cheese. We explained to the waitress that the mac & cheese had no cheese and no flavor and she apologized and said they make their own now. So were ordered the chicken strips. When my wife brought up her chopped hamburger patty, she explained that they no longer use the chopped steak. When we were finished and asked for our check, we were given the wrong one. We let the waitress know and she apologized and gave us another check that was not ours. We once again let her know and came back 5 minutes later with the correct check. We spent 3 hours in that restaurant in. I don't know if this is typical here or not or we came on a bad day, but this was by far the worst experience we have EVER had at a restaurant. I never had such a horrible experience at this place like I did on Friday 04/07/2023. We went in to ask how long the wait was for two people the hostess as the front said it was 15 Ming I said okay put my name on the list with my number. My boyfriend and I went to the bar to get a drink then came back to the front when I got the text. I infórmate the lady in the front that i got the text stating my table was almost ready. She told us to wait on the carpet that said number two. Went ahead and waited there. My boyfriend and I were waiting there for 10 min and noticed other people kept getting seated before us. I was getting upset. I went to the lady in the front to ask what was taking so long and she said that she called me but nobody answered so she put us at the end of the list. I was even more upset. I told her what do you mean nobody answered you told me to wait over there, you should have known we were over there. I also told her all the other waiters said other peoples names Loya and walked up to them nobody walked up to use. I also told well how did you say because you do have a soft tone and it is very loud here. She was very dismissive and rude. I was trying hard not to let that get me more angry. It was the African America lady with big lips and braids. After that we were seated by Julian and he didn’t even bring us bread we had to ask our waiter and he didn’t even tell us to scan the QR code to get the menu. We were sitting there for like another 15 min. After we ordered our food. It took another 1 hour to get our food. I was so annoyed and upset. I didn't even wanna eat no more. My boyfriend and I checked in at 6:32 pm and were messaged that the wait would be 25-35 min. So we waited out in our car for 40 min and then we went inside to wait some more. They were busy so we thought hey we might just be lower on the list. So after waiting a total of an hour and 15min we went up and said something. We said the first name it was under and the lady said oh first name and last name. So you didn’t check in. So how did you know the last name? So we wait some more until they can find us a table and not a single oh sorry for the wait or here let’s get you a drink in the house. Nothing. The manager for the night or overall, whatever, was standing right there too and said nothing. Idk if their system malfunctioned but that’s not our fault it’s their system. I’m not expecting our whole meal free but come on. We have had many good experiences here before but this was terrible. We get some alcoholic drinks that have little to no alcohol just filled with club soda. And then we split a burger and fries. When the dish arrives we have a total of 17 fries. Idk if they were giving us leftover fries or didn’t want to give a normal amount because we were splitting it but 17, really? On top of all this my napkin came dirty still and so did the extra plate we got with our burger. So gross. The waitress was really nice even though it was obvious we were both struggling to be happy by the time we actually sat at a booth so I’m glad she was there to save the date. I don’t plan to come back for a really long time because I’m afraid something like this might just happen again since they already see it happening but aren’t doing anything to fix it...
