My overall experience was sub-par and frustrating but at the same time delicious: here's a breakdown:
Service: -The human element was VERY POOR. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume the individual was new, but here's what happened. The cashier just stared at me while I was trying to place my order and was too quiet to be heard. Another employee had to come over and help them out with taking my phone number (they text you when you're order is ready) and name. The cashier after collecting my order didn't say anything else, just stared off into the distance leaving me to figure out I'm supposed to reach under the acrylic barrier between us to insert my card in the machine. The receipt printed out and the cashier kept staring at me without saying a single word even after I asked for the receipt, so after a short but incredibly uncomfortable moment of being stared at I once again reached through the barrier and tore off my own receipt. I went and found myself a table to sit and wait. I checked my receipt to see what order number I was and discovered a little further down an incorrect phone number. Great. Beyond frustrated, I resorted to periodically 'meerkatting' (standing up and scouting) to see if there were any finished pizzas sitting out. I eventually had my pizza in hand within only a few minutes.
The Food: -I ordered the carnivore which comes topped with sliced pepperoni, diced ham, and large sausage chunks. I'll start off the bat giving this pizza a 3/5. Good, but not great. Let's start with the good. The overall pizza came out cooked perfectly with no signs of burning on the meat or cheese. The outer crust was crunchy and pleasant to eat by itself even without additional seasoning. Also, the proportion of meats to cheese was perfect with an even portion of each type of meat. And on to the bad. GREASY. My goodness, when I opened the box the center of the pizza had a pool of orange grease. The crust under this area was so saturated in grease that it came apart when picking up each slice. But that's my only gripe with this pizza. Let the grease drip away, avoid the middle and this is good pizza.
Closing statement - I've had substantially worse pizza and I've also had substantially better pizza. I won't tell you to or not to eat here because I've only had one experience. I will say however that the business has room to grow and has the potential to keep up with the big name pizza chains. Personally, I will not be returning...
Read moreWhat a nightmare! Ordered a personal margarita and received something akin to a large cheese/no sauce pizza-monster. Not only was the crust super thick, it also tasted like cooking gas-yum. When the guy served my giant, ugly, sauceless pie, he informed me that he could put basil on it. Let's review- on a margarita pizza that was defined in their menu as tomato sauce, mozzarella, and basil, the individual serving it told me they "could" put basil on my pizza. Well, thank you so much, mister! I guess I made a face at this because he proceeded to explain that kids don't like "green things" and that's why don't put it on their pizza (though again their menu says basil comes on the margarita, and they also have a kids cheese pizza?). I told him, point blank: "I don't have kids." So he continued to explain about the kids not liking "green stuff". Though I absolutely loathe that server for assuming I have kids/care about what kids want or do, I would have let it go if the pizza didn't taste like cheese, and only cheese (put sauce on your pizza!), farted in my mouth. A pox on your house, Molina...
Read moreMy recent encounter with Malina Pizza in Baltimore left me thoroughly disappointed and dissatisfied. The customer service experience fell far below expectations.
I place my order, the lack of professionalism was so apparent when I tried to have a conversation with the cashier. The staff members seemed argumentative failing to provide answers to questions I asked after he responded to a comment I made about the US dollar. His attitude was like he had no training to deal with the public and his behavior was atrocious. It was as if he couldn't be bothered to offer even the most basic level of customer service.
In addition to the disappointing service, I can’t get a refund on the spot.
In conclusion, my experience at Malina pizza was nothing short of regrettable. From the apathetic staff every aspect of my visit fell short of even the most basic standards of customer service. I would strongly advise anyone considering dining at Malia Pizza to look elsewhere for a more enjoyable and...
