Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe — Local services in Bay Lake

This is a review from 2014 that I should have made! I was going through photos from our vacation and saw this one and can't believe I failed to compliment this store and Christie, an employee in the shop, specifically. Really above and beyond. If she still works there, I hope she gets some deserved recognition.

We went into the shop near the end of our family vacation to get a commemorative ornament, and of course, our five year old nephew was not as excited by this beautiful shop of "don't touch that" fragility as the rest of Magic Kingdom. He started to throw a fit and we were all tired (the exhaustion of Disney is as real as the Magic) so we finally left the store without buying an ornament. While he sulked and cried, the adults pow-wowed to discuss if we should just go home, and Christie came out of the store just to talk to my nephew. She asked him questions about what he'd done during the day, asked where he was from and if he liked the warmer weather... She was so gentle and kind, she turned his attitude around. Of course we were able to go back in and get the ornament which has hung on our tree for 6 Christmases now and until seeing this photo, I'd forgotten how close we came to leaving without it. Beautiful Christmas shop, but bad experience. We bought a Christmas ornament to be shipped directly to our house for an extra cost. The employee spelled my wife's name incorrectly despite having all her details and booking information. Several days after our checkout, bus, and flight, we get home and receive our package, and discover the name misprint. We contact customer service from Disney with the details of the order from the shipment. They ask for the original receipt or a plethora of additional information that was difficult and time-consuming to track down. Ye olde Christmas shoppe is the Magic Kingdom's only Christmas store. Outside there is a life size sleigh for picture taking. The store has quite a selection of Christmas merchandise ranging from ornaments to toys. Certain ornaments can be engraved for an additional fee.

Shipping is available. I was thrilled at the fact that I was there during Hanukkah and they had Hanukkah merchandise available. I was able to pick up a Mickey dreidel base with a driedel to on top.

The store does get crowded during the holidays due to the very Merry Christmas party and people wanting to get one new ornament as a token of their visit.
