I have a journey pennant I want to give my daughter for her birthday. The chain broke years ago so I went to the store in May to purchase a new one. The price of gold has gone up so much that I wanted to take advantage of the deals on mother's day. When I got to the store, they were out of box chains in the length and thickness I needed for this charm. The associated suggested I put it in layaway and he would call me when one came in. Her birthday is in August and it was only May, so this sounded like a good idea. Two weeks past and I never heard from the salesman at the store. I went in to the store to inquire and was told nothing came in, but he assured me that he would call when it was. Two more weeks past and still no call. I went back to the store once again and was told still nothing came in and not to worry, he would call. Layaways are supposed to be picked up in 90 days and I was beginning to worry, was i going to loose my deposit? Was i going to have the necklace on time. Fast forward to this weekend, over 90 days later. I went back to the store to inquire. The associated I had originally spoke to was not in but a very kind woman was determined that she was going to help. She was not able to find any information regarding my original layaway. She did however have the chain! She spoke to the manager on duty that was not as kind and helpful as her. I did get my purchase but the woman was very condescending and short with me. I'm happy to say I finally got the necklace in time for her birthday but the whole ordeal was unnecessary. I have alot of jewelry from Ashcroft, but I will think twice about...
Read moreTook my girlfriend into this store to look at rings. I was asked my budget, provided it, and we began to look at options. Saw some things she liked but nothing that she was totally set on and loved. After getting the numbers, they were anywhere from 20-50% over my planned budget. After talking it over, she did not love the stylings enough to justify the cost over budget. With other expenses, it was simply not feasible to purchase something so expensive. After conveying this to the sales lady, she then dismissed herself with a very apparent negative attitude and walked away. After someone else came over, I saw her with her back towards us obviously discussing my girlfriend and I and our situation with another employee while the other employee kept looking at us, and we believe that she was discussing us negatively. I fully planned on this store being a possible purchasing point but now I don't think I'll be returning - not when I was made to feel bad declining the purchase of something 1.5X my budget. Only giving two stars because it helped the girlfriend get closer to choosing her desired style.
Too long / didn't read: Store has a reasonable selection (in the mall, not great, not bad) but the sales lady we worked with was pushy and unprofessional when told you aren't going to buy something 1.5X over budget. Whatever your budget is, take 25% off and tell the sales people so that you ultimately end up where you...
Read moreI visited Ashcroft & Oak today and was greeted by Devin, whose hospitality, friendliness, and thoughtfulness were truly outstanding. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and valued—not just as a customer, but as a person.
Devin went far beyond the basics of customer service. He took the time to ask about my day and genuinely listened to what I liked in jewelry, even though I wasn’t sure what kind of chain I wanted. His product knowledge and insightful recommendations made my decision process smooth and stress-free.
What truly set Devin apart was his attention to detail and thoughtfulness. He even asked whether I was right- or left-handed to ensure I could easily put on and take off the necklace since I wanted to wear it out. Small gestures like this show his dedication to making the shopping experience as effortless as possible.
As someone who works in customer service, I found his professionalism and care inspiring. Devin embodies what great customer service should be—knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely invested in the customer’s experience. He represents Ashcroft & Oak exceptionally well and truly deserves recognition for his...
