My coworker was looking for something tasty to eat for lunch today from Nordstrom Grill and found something she wanted on the online menu. She called to order it and Sierra told her it no longer exists on the menu. As if this wouldn't be confusing enough, Sierra then hung up on her when she asked if there was anything comparable that she could order instead. We went in to order instead which is where we found Sierra barely playing hostess and looking very unkempt. She greeted us with a plain "hello" so underwhelming that i had almost forgotten it by the time i could begin this review. As she watched my coworker struggle to find something on the menu, she offered no help or interest in finding out what the customer may be seeking. My coworker settled on her desired meal and placed it. Sierra walked away with her nose in the air as slow as she possibly could to place it. One of her more engaged coworkers asked if she could help us with anything because we obviously looked like neglected customers. We thanked her and told her our order was being placed. Her coworker watching her is what what prompted the slightest bit of enthusiasm as she handed my coworker her receipt. We both work in this mall providing customer service and have seen a lot of changes here recently. The last thing we expected was such unacceptable customer service from one of the flagship stores...

The concept of an upscale lunch while out shopping was a staple of years past, but my wife and I come here just for lunch, and skip the shoes and housewares, etc. Service is superb (thank you to Sean, Michael, and others) and its always a struggle to pick just one dish. The Halibut and chips is "fish and chips" but it's the best prepared version in town. Calamari- excellent; sandwiches - excellent; salads, with fresh prepared shrimp or grilled chicken - excellent! Read moreThis is a throwback to the days when all department stores had restaurants, tea rooms, bars, etc. The Walnut Room in Macy's (formerly Marshall Field) State Street store in Chicago is still the quintessential department store restaurant. I am so happy that Nordstrom continues this tradition throughout the US. I love the Nordstrom Grille restaurant at the Beachwood Place Nordstrom in the suburbs of Cleveland, OH. I go there a lot.
