A company that is suppose to represent for the Veterans and the disabled is all a joke none of what they say they stand for is true the store manager reported a veteran who needed a wheel chair to sit in during his shift which on this particular day he was working a double and because he was in lots of pain and could hardly stand he purchased a wheel chair and because he was not on a official break this store manager still gave him a hard time about the wheel chair even after this veteran was and explained the situation and that he was gonna fall if he didn’t get the chair and the store manager reported him to hr which turned into a termination for this veteran and also for the cashier that rung him up all of this was not necessary especially when no one reprimands the store manager that is clearly intoxicated every day to the point where customers have made complaints and also employees because you can smell it on his breath and he reeks of it also who has embarrassed and made the disabled employees feel disrespected to the point of hurting there feelings and talking down to them just because of there disability that is most disgusting thing you can do especially when these people are trying to be able to do things for themselves as well and being made to feel that they can’t. DO NOT work for Goodwill or donate take your items and those round ups are not being used correctly take your business to other thrift stores that actually represent what they stand for ,they have favoritism here they overwork and under pay the employees that they do have which is a little amount because no one stays because of the poor treatment a lot of issues are thrown under the rug and hidden from the CEO and also from human resources of what is going on in these stores and this includes the bluffton store the newest location on Godfrey Place by the sams club location where the store manager there is allowed to curse the workers make them cry on a regular basis be rude to customers be a bully and. had has several issues including a bad google review also several customer complaints and many employees that have quit including managers and leads how is it possible to lose 5 managers and 15 or more.regular employees in one year and no one from corporate has cared enough to know why especially from one store alone ,but because she is favored by the district manager, all the issues have been hidden and thrown under the rug also .some things needs to change immediately there is several other thrift stores in the area that are actually genuine and really care about the veterans, the disabled and the workers this...
Read moreLet me start off by, I love thrifting. This goodwill is hit or miss though, we bought a leather ottoman for 30$ almost brand new, not a scratch on it, easily a 150$ piece. Other times we have gone, there wasn't much of a selection in housewares and furniture, and I'm saying this with understanding their selection is based from donations. Today we went, and every piece of furniture other than one couch, had rips stains, scratches etc. Most of them priced very high. A rickety old black press board end table for 19$ , I could have easily bought a brand new one from Walmart for 20$. Needless to say most items today belonged at the dump. On a positive note, the clothing selection is great if you're looking for quality name brand items for cheap. I buy most of my heels and dress shoes here, they're nearly brand new most of the time. Only downside to clothing is you have to dig and search, women's clothing in kids sections, men's clothing in dress section. Organization is needed to say the least. One employee is rude , and doesn't like to answer any questions, I asked where maternity clothes would be and she rolled her eyes and snapped "we don't have any". I spent 20 minutes searching, and low and behold found maternity jeans! All in all, a good place to shop if you hit it the right day, with...

I travel to Beaufort once a month for hospital visits. I stopped at Goodwill and purchased a beautiful Desk lamp for six dollars. I drove an hour back home, made some room on my desk and plugged it in and attempted to put a lightbulb in the socket. The socket had been completely destroyed and removed. There was no assembly to screw the bulb into. A month later, I travel back to Beaufort with my receipt in hand to return the broken lamp. I mentioned how disappointed I was that piece of technology was not tested before it was sold. The pregnant assistant tells me that they don’t check technology. It is just too hard for them to keep up with all the Inventory. Then, after looking at my receipt tells me that they are unable to issue a refund because they only do that within a four day period of purchase.
This Goodwill location sells technology. That is not tested! That in itself is...
