Five months ago I went to this Fred Meyer in July 2015 to buy my bus pass that I do there every month. I took 4 watches that all needed new bands and I was willing to pay to have them done. Never in my life after living in Portland since 1991 was I treated so horribly by the man that worked in the watch department. He said he had worked there since 1986 and that he was perfect at what he did which he was not. I was in a horrible car accident in 2006 and now am in a wheelchair and it is not my falt that I am disabled. I also am slow because of the accident. This man who said he had worked there for almost 30 years treated me so horribly. He said the store would never ever get watch bands for those type of watches. He said these bands were in the far back of the store and I went there and of course that was not where the watches were. The watches were by the clothing department and of course there were no bands there. I went back and asked him why they were not doing these watches any more and he did not have a good reason. He said that he could pick and choose the kind of work that he wanted to do and he was an arrogant jerk. I have worked for people since the early 1980's and never are you able to do that on any job. I am special needs for something that is not my falt and in a wheelchair. I know he would not fix my watches because of my disability. This store is always full even on days when people are supposed to be at work. There is a huge problem with the unemployment rate known as the hidden unemployment rate. If they were working then they would be there and not at a grocery store. All I wanted was my watches to have a new band and I was willing to pay to have them done. This man that worked in the Jewelry center at this store was horrible and did not want to fix my watches and it was because I am not pretty and am disabled. I know this. This is a warning to never go to this store if you have a watch to be fixed. This man will tear you down and talk to you like you are dirt. I have a friend who also is slow and we went there one day and my friend was treated horribly when he was looking at new watches. It is not my friends falt he is like that because he also was in a horrible wreck as well about 20 years or so ago. This is to warn you to never go to this store for anything especially the watches because this man is horrible and arrogant and thinks that he knows it all about all watches. He does not and is arrogant. I found two places that were willing to put new bands on my watches since the watches have sentimental value and they gave me no problems about it at all. When I am treated horribly I tell 10 other people and those 10 tell 20 more and so on and so on. Then over time no one will go there any more just like what happened when Albertson's and Haggens went out of business for good. Customer Service is everything and when people are treated like dirt they do not come back. That is just the way it is. You guys sent me a charge card and it turned out you had the wrong SS number on the form I filled out. The lady who got me in the store to do it put her SS number on the form and when I found out about it by trying to call and activate the card one day, I wrote a long letter to US Bank telling them what this lady did. That is called FRAUD. Please never ever never ever never never ever never ever go to Fred Meyer's Jewelry Center or the store for that matter. Disabled people they treat like dirt. Also they use other peoples SS numbers when they get you in the store to fill out for a charge card. That is what they did to me and that was wrong. This is a bad experience that I had and want to let people know what happened to me. I hate you Fred Meyer for treating me like garbage. I hate your guts. I have told many people what happened to me and word will spread over time. That is just the way Customer Service works. This store does have bad discriminatory issues and discriminates against the disabled just like other reviews...
Read moreIf I could give this business a zero star I would but Google won't let me. I came in on 3/21/16 between 10-11 am in the Beaverton-Hillsdale Fred Meyer Jewelers to get my ring cleaned. As I walked in, the sales associate didn't even acknowledged me to say "Hi, welcome. Is there anything I could help you with today?" There was only one customer in the store which is an old man whom she was chatting with, he wasn't purchasing anything to my knowledge. After 5 minutes have passed by, I decided to stand in front of her to get her attention. She still ignored me for an additional 2-5 minutes. She finally paid attention to me when the old man told her to "assist this young lady." When she finally asked me "how can I help you hon" Her tone of voice and body language sounded like I was bothering her chat with the old man because she might be closing a sale. "I told her I need to get my ring cleaned" then she responded with "I will be right back with you" to continue her chat with the old man." After 30 secs, she turned around to ask, "is this even one of our jewelry?" I was fuming with how her tone of voice sounded condescending that the promise ring purchased along with the lifetime warranty wasn't worth her time. I said "Yes. She then proceeded to take my ring in the back. 1 minute afterwards she came out drying it off with a white cloth or paper towel. At that point, I walked out of there infuriated and frustrated for being treated like garbage. I felt like I am not welcome because I didn't look rich and that my skin is brown. I called on 3/28/16 between 1:22 pm to speak with the manager to report the incident and the lady that answered the phone said "can I take a message his with a customer." I never got a call back. I reported this incident to corporate the same day. I called today to check on the status and my case wasn't even looked at. This company's overall message to me is I am not worth their time because I look poor and I have brown skin. For a company that prides itself with "we provide good customer service" LIES! FALSE ADVERTISING! Don’t ever purchase anything at this Fred Meyer Jewelers if you don’t want to be treated like garbage. Terrible, Horrible, and Awful...
Read moreI had an absolutely terrible experience at this location. Which is very unfortunate because I had a great experience at the Tigard location about a year prior. I worked with Fariba, she not only opened two different accounts instead of transferring my old Fred Meyer Jewelers account to the new credit card company Synchrony she opened TWO different accounts. I decided to not get a pair of earrings and the charge was already processed on my card even though I hadn't received the earrings. I was told back in AUGUST that my accounts were taken care of and in mid September I received a bill from Synchrony requesting payment on an item that I DIDN'T EVEN PURCHASE. I had contacted their office several times, I spoke to Fariba, Stephanie the "Manager" as well as another sales associate and they all kept stating my accounts were fixed and everything was taken care of. Fast forward to yesterday 11/20/19 and I find out my accounts weren't taken care of an I have a large outstanding balance with synchrony for earrings I never took home. I finally was able to talk to someone who knew what the hell they were doing who I trust to help fix my account. I will NEVER shop at this location again, they've been more trouble than help. Since opening two different accounts it affected my credit score poorly as well as now I have derogatory marks from lack of payment on earrings again I DID NOT PURCHASE OR TAKE HOME. Never use this location for your jewelry needs I promise you will regret it. What an absolute mess....
