EZPAWN — Local services in Bellaire

Do not recommend!! My recent visit to the EZ Pawn at 4903 Bissonnet location was very disappointing. Stay away from The manager Lorena.

While negotiating the price for items totaling $689, I offered $600, and the counteroffer was $622. Ultimately, I chose not to proceed—not because of the price, as I would have paid the $689, but due to the interaction with the store manager, Lorena (spelling uncertain). Her demeanor was condescending and unprofessional, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere.

Additionally, upon entering the store, I overheard her loudly issuing directives to employees about price tags showing and display arrangements. While leadership is essential, addressing staff in such a manner in front of customers is unprofessional and creates an uncomfortable shopping environment. It also raises concerns about how employees are treated behind the scenes.

I remain a loyal EZ Pawn customer and will continue shopping at other locations. However, based on my experience, I cannot recommend the 4903 Bissonnet store. I went to the EZ Pawn located at 4903 Bissonnet St. Houston, TX 77401. I brought a laptop in and made a request for a certain amount, which was higher than she had offered. She made it work though! I was so grateful because it really made all the difference to my financial situation. It is crazy sometimes how $10 can be the difference between homelessness due to not enough for rent and having a stable home. I can say that in this case my need for her to agree to my request was because of a financial crisis nearly that serious. I initially chose to go to this pawn shop because they have about 300 - 350 Google reviews and have somehow maintained nearly a 5 star average… they are at a 4.8. If you look at many, many more pawn shops for comparison you are lucky if you find a shop with a 2.5 average in Houston. This is the place to go. If you do choose to go here you should definitely try to find Shannon working there. She was really personable and friendly, not to mention considerate of my request, and I left feeling really positive because of my interaction with her. Maria was AWESOME! Her and her supervisor both actually. She was professional, worked diligently and was kind. She did not know it but both me and my friend have autism. My symptoms cause me to have severe social anxiety which I mask. If it’s triggered, my symptoms can be so severe that I lose muscle control/the inability to walk properly. Finding the details for the power washer and portable ac unit was challenging. Maria not only kept her call, but her demeanor/kept my anxiety from triggering. She also made sure that I felt respected and immediately attended to request made by me and my friend. No lie, Maria literally multi tasked getting my friend cups for water while waiting for Info to load on the computer. Every thing was seamless. She even lifted the heavy ac like it was nothing. All around great customer rep and experience. I actually joined the rewards program because of how easy it was to work with her. That is something I declined to do in the past.
