I have never experienced such an unprofessional interaction with a business. I purchased a groupon to try out this place. I booked the diamond microdermabrasion facial which I have done plenty of times with my regular esthetician with no issues.
On arrival, they had me fill out a form about my skin and then after quickly glancing it over, they told me that the diamond microdermabrasion facial isn't right for my skin type because I have "acne and stuff". I suffer from roseaca and acne scarring but have no active cystic acne. They had this conversation with me in front of 3 other customers in the lobby, which is rude, unprofessional and quite honestly felt like shaming my skin for what it is. Fortunately, I am confident in my skin but wow I can't imagine how I would've felt years ago when my cystic acne was at its worst.
The girl suggested a hydra facial instead which was going to cost an additional $100. When I told her I was not interested and that I had had diamond microdermabasion done before with no issues, she said they could do it. At this point, I am not comfortable trusting these people to know how to work with my skin.
Additionally, they had called me every day for 4 days leading up to this appointment to confirm the appointment. At no point in these phone calls/voicemails or the original phone call I made to make the appointment, or the groupon fine print did they mention skin types that are unfit for this specific type of facial.
At this point, it is already 15 mins past my scheduled appointment time and I am still having this discussion. I left promptly to which I received a text saying they'd be willing to do the hydra facial for free if I came back. At that point, I felt so disrespected that there was no way I would trust anyone at this business to go anywhere near my face.
Sounds like someone else using a groupon had a similar experience based on the google reviews and it's clear they did not learn anything from that person's experience.
I will be requesting a refund and will never be going back to this...
Read moreI know small businesses work hard to make it and I quite appreciate non-chain type of places, so I really had to think hard before writing this review. I've been getting facials for a couple of decades so decided to try this place a couple of times with a Groupon. The gal at the front desk is super rude and pushy about upselling. If you don't buy one of her many suggestions, she treats you like dirt, not a pleasant experience at a spa. It would be best if she didn't sit at the front desk and piss people off because she is making this business lose customers. When I went back for a 2nd facial and quickly refused her upsell, she angrily took me to the spa room, and I think she said 'change' but muttered it all quickly and started to leave. I asked her 'sorry what do you want me to do?' She said very rudely 'You have been here before, right?' I was flabbergasted at the tone and attitude!!!! Single reason to not want to go back - don't want to deal with her. Other people have mentioned her in the reviews...and yelp has other similar reviews which talk about the front desk gal and that this place keeps changing its name to avoid negative reviews :(
During the facial itself, the person goes in and out 3-4 times to bring in and take out equipment which shines a bright light as soon as the door opens and it's not relaxing. The final mask is left on, and the worker is gone for 20 mins and you lay there feeing cold instead of getting a little neck rub or the heater being on. The person doing the facial spoke 3 times only 1. At the beginning with one word 'microderm?" 2. Mask on, back in 10 and 3. All done, bye....so there is that aspect of things too in case you were expecting something nice and welcoming.
Save yourself the insults and spend your money elsewhere where you find relaxation and...
Read moreTL;DR: Good Facials, Poor Customer Service. I went in because I saw a good deal on Groupon for facials. I thought I bought the "hydra facial" but the title shown on Groupon was misleading. I confused "hydrating facial" with "hydra facial". So I had to pay way more to upgrade to a hydra facial. The hydra facial itself was great, HOWEVER, the owner tried to sell me a very expensive membership package for 10 sessions. Even though I repeatedly said NO, she was very persistent to push me into buying it. What she did was very off-putting, unprofessional, and disrespectful. I felt patronized.
I originally considered coming back in the future. But the fact that the owner tried so hard to upsell me the very expensive membership package that I don't need makes me not want to come back ever again. To be honest, that was A Very...
