Would not recommend, nor will we be back.
Pros: Lots of cool items Features items from local artist to PNW
Cons: Unprofessional staffing Micro-aggression Defective item
The person that was working there has a serious attitude problem. They were EXTREMELY RUDE AND SNARKY. We were the only minority in the shop and they followed us the whole time making passive aggressive comments. Other customers (non-POC) were clearly looking around and they weren't constantly disrupted and being pressured to buy things. The funny part we were the only customer that bought something (maybe her harassment tactics work lol) since I thought the item was cute. When I opened my item I noticed that it was damaged. However, the employee there made us so uncomfortable that I'll count this as a loss with my defective item since I'm non-confrontational. Normally I wouldn't jump to conclusions about racial issues unless it feels HEAVILY targeted as such (nothing differentiate us from the other customers other than we were non-white, i.e our attire and mannerisms were no different than the other customers). Something was off about her and clearly whatever issues she internally had was projected on to us. Definitely won't be back, nor recommend.
Update I went to google to post my review there also because my experience was that bad. But before I posted I saw other people’s reviews and SHOCKER (not really) the majority of people that posted bad reviews on customer’s experience and feeling very dismissed/mistreated were MINORITIES. Where there’s smoke there’s fire…….
My spidey senses are picking up that it’s probably the same employee and she clearly does not like...
Read morePoor customer service. My mom was buying a few items when the clock turned to 7 pm when they closed. I, of course, wanted to wait with my mom in the store (why not and what is the big deal), so I was looking at a few items while I waited. A worker approach me and told me they were closed and that I needed to leave. I responded that my mom (3 feet away from me) is checking out so I'm waiting for her. The worker has some power issues because she again told me I need to walk out the store. During this time my mom was still finishing up her transaction. It was an unreasonable request and is a big tell of this workers insecurities and as a result, her ego trip. I'm thankful I've never bought anything from this store and never plan on doing so. Now I just need to convince my mom to do the same. Don't buy from this overpriced store with poor customer service with workers who are possibly racists (I'm Hispanic). I shared this experience with another worker who responded kindly and said she'd share my concern with the manager. Let's hope the manager does something. I can see this store closing down if this kind of behavior...
Read moreWhen needing to buy a fun gift, Fireworks at BelleSquare is always at the top of my list! The store is full of quirky, unique gifts, many with a PNW flare. There really is something for everyone here. The bright colors and playful displays instantly put you in a good mood!
What really made my visit stand out, though, was the exceptional service from Marsha. She was incredibly helpful and her knowledge of the store’s offerings was impressive. She took the time to suggest a few items I hadn’t noticed, including the perfect Golden Girls coffee mug for my friend's birthday.
I also bought a gift bag and Marsha asked if I was heading right to a party. Yes, as a matter of fact, I was! She then helped me pick out the funniest card, and when checking out, she made sure to take off the price tag, wrapped the coffee mug up in tissue paper, and made it look really pretty in the gift bag. Such a time saver, thanks so much!!
Highly recommended for anyone looking for that perfect, fun gift or just to enjoy a unique...
