Irongate Estate & Vintage Depot — Local services in Bellingham

I cannot possibly praise Irongate Estate/Bellingham Coin Shop more. They helped us to liquidate our property in September, 2020.

We had a very complex moving situation. We have been in the process of downsizing and moving my parents, during COVID-19, from Point Roberts, WA across the border to Canada. Point Roberts is separated from mainland USA by two borders (in & out of Canada) and, with the border restrictions and safety concerns, the timing couldn't be worse. Also, there is no market for an Estate Sale out of our home, as the Point Roberts community is very small, isolated and practically empty at the moment as it mostly consists of Canadians with a 2nd vacation home who do not currently have access to their properties.

Irongate Estate/Bellingham Coin Shop really came through for us and exceeded ALL expectations. The communication and response time was excellent. They showed up on the date expected and were very calm and patient during the stressful, but necessary, process. They gave our generations of belongings a 2nd chance at life as donations or to be sold by their business, rather than being sent to the dump (which was our only alternative option).

The owner, R.B. Wick, also appraised the value of my father's coin collection. He was very knowledgeable.

Everyone we interacted with was helpful, personable, and empathetic including the owner who came himself on pick-up day. I also appreciated their interest in sustainability and giving back to the community by donating to those in need affected by the recent fires in Washington.

Stopped in here on a Friday morning around opening - selection was incredible and the staff was so lovely. I was lucky enough to chat with Heather and RB as I was checking out (my loot consisting of some 1 of a kind glassware, spanish playing cards, a pair of bermuda shorts, and some wooden utensils) and they showed me to a secret stash of tarot items that they thought I'd be interested in. Ended up scoring some super old school Gypsy Fortune Telling cards that I am going to use to frame as little keepsake gifts for friends throughout the year. ALSO RB had an amazing collection of vintage trucker hats and he bestowed me with the perfect cap to wear to my brother's football games this fall. Truly such a score and worth the drive up from Seattle. Will be recommending to anyone who'll listen!...

I have visited the coin and Thrift/Retail Shop on several occasions. A person could get lost in there for hours. However, this weekend, Irongate Estates was running an estate sale in Bellingham. In light of recent events with covid-19, I was absolutely amazed at how efficiently and well-organized the estate sale ran. 5 people maximum were limited inside the house at any given time, (with a time limit, and the ability to re-queue) and masks were required.
