Sake Express — Local services in Belmont

Decided to try the new location. We had high hopes due to the old belmont location being our favorite to go to. Not impressed at all. First the hostess told us the waitress was being too slow cleaning off our table, which we didnt appreciate her saying that about our waitress to us cause we were in no hurry, our waitress was amazing. The food lacked flavor and the chicken in the hibachi chicken was bland. Ordered a side of vegetables with our meal cause meals don't come with any vegetables. Brought out our food and the sautéed vegetables were not ready due to running out of zucchini and had to cut more. Almost finished with our meal and they still had not come out and we ate slow and took our time hoping they were coming. Ask waitress once more if they were coming and kept being told they would be ready soon. We finally just gave up cause we were finished with our meals and never received them and told the waitress to just not even bother with them since we were done and wanted them with our meal. Highly doubt we will come back anytime soon or...

This was my first time trying Sake Express after hearing a lot of good things, so I placed a to-go order last night with high hopes. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst meals I’ve ever had.

I ordered noodles, steak bites, and spring rolls. I must have misread the noodle description — I assumed it would be lo mein-style, but what I got was plain spaghetti tossed in a teriyaki-like sauce, served dry in a styrofoam box. The texture and flavor were both unappetizing.

The steak bites came with mushrooms and carrots, but the meat had zero seasoning or sauce. It was just dry chunks of steak, and I ended up throwing it all away. The spring rolls weren’t any better — the cabbage filling was tough and seemed undercooked before being deep-fried. The texture was just all wrong.

I’m not sure if the food quality suffered because it was a takeout order, and maybe dining in would’ve allowed me to ask for things to be corrected — but I honestly don’t think I’ll be giving this place another try...

Just go to the Mt. Holly or Gastonia location, this location is absolutely disgusting.

This was the worest sake me and my girlfriend have ever had. Spent 70$ on everything. Our food was ready within 5 minutes of placing the order... the best thing about it was the salad. Nothing had any flavor. The fried rice tasted like the frozen rice you microwave. My steak was gray and rubbery with absolutely no flavor or hibachi sauce. The zucchini and onions tasted burnt. The chicken was dry and had no teriyaki sauce. We both said it tasted like everything was precooked snd sat there for 30 minutes until you placed the order. Absolutely never going to this location again and wish I could go back in time and decide NOT to try...
