At first I was wary of the reviews, but in my experience I have learned just having a decent positive attitude can go a long way in making a delivery go well.

I had a 1430 appt but was waaay early at 0630. The gal at the guard shack is a ray of sunshine. She placed me in door #20 and wished me well. Yes. These docks are tight. I am sure I looked like a rookie (I kinda am one) back and forth 682 times to get in. But I got it!

Then about an hour later, some goblin lookin lady (term used for brevity) came out and said my appt is at 1430. I had to reseal and leave and come back then. My heart sank a little. You mean I get another crack at docking this behemoth?!? So that’s what I did. I busted my clock. Had the guard reseal and headed to the Pilot about a half mile away for a 6 hour break.

I came back and Ms Ray of Sunshine was still there and assigned me door #23. Luckily, when I got back there I was the only truck. Still, even with all that “room”, it was a challenge getting docked. I have no idea how you would get in between two trucks back there.

So 3 stars for the ridiculous docking.

There's parking on the street but theres truck stops with plenty of parking one junction south. When you arrive don't stop at the barrier, turn right and park between the fence and the faded yellow line. Take your bills to the guard shack. He didn't ask to see my license. Guard checked paperwork and then asked me to get the seals. Don't break the seals until he tells you.

I have absolutely no idea where the bad reviews come from (I tend to ignore them anyway) but then compared to the volume of deliveries they get here they're tiny.

I can see where some of the docks are really tight but you learn it's often easier to slide the tandems back and hook it. Just take it slow like a snail and don't be rushed by impatient drivers.

Gentlman at the guard shack was polite and easy to deal with. Always be polite regardless even to the grumpy ones.

I'm delivering raw meat round the back and they even came out and apologized that it might take a while, which I don't care about anyway because I'll get detention. It is what it is, it's just...

Let face it. Drivers, your experience with a customer is what you make it. The guard at the gate was in a bad mood. But if you let someone else's mood dictate your mood, then it will be an unpleasant moment. But if you refuse to be forced into going to their level. You can change their interaction with you. The guard was short and rude at first. But by the time our interaction was over, we were being civil to each other . I was early-ish. The guard wasn't happy that I was early-ish. But the guard still gave me a door with the understanding that I may be waiting awhile. No problem since I was early. Arrived at 1000 for a 1230 appointment. Got a door right away.
