Steinways sell themselves. That said, I've been here a few times, when I'm in LA, just to satisfy my piano fix while away. The sales staff are always courteous, happy to see a customer or someone who just wants to talk about pianos or music.
Knowing full well I am from out of town and just wanted to waste a few minutes, they let me play for a short while without objection. I wouldn't disturb them if they were in the midst of a sale, but it was a slow afternoon and I had a great time exploring and chatting with the sales person, who was nice enough to showcase a piece she had written.
