Vacation Homes Only — Local services in Beverly Hills

I wish I had read the reviews of this company before I booked through them. Before you book make sure you examine the reviews carefully. I would rate this company zero stars. Now the details of my story......

We secured a rental property in Myrtle Beach, S.C. through this company. Nick was the person who executed the transaction. Our agreement was for a Saturday - Saturday rental (7/20 - 7/27).. We sent the payment of almost $1600 and the signed contract in a timely fashion.

The night before we were scheduled to leave for our vacation (550 miles away). I received a text message from Nick indicating that there was a problem with our reservations. He said that our Saturday reservation was no longer available and all that he could secure was a Sunday - Thursday reservation (7/21 - 7/25).

Nick did not give any details of what caused the mix up. He said that he would find a place for us at another resort for the first night and suggested that we could cut our vacation short. I told him that was not an option so he agreed to work on something for the remaining two nights of our vacation. On our way to S.C. on Saturday, Nick secured accommodations that were well below the standard that we had originally paid for so we declined. This left us with no choice but to find accommodations on our own as I could not trust him to meet our needs.

After 3 days of aggravation and stress we were able to secure the remaining days of our rental. This company breached the contract that we signed, and, I would not recommend doing...

We rented from Vacation Homes Only 11 months prior to our reservation date. We had to give them full payment immediately. We never received confirmation from VHO about our reservation until the day before we left. Attempts to contact VHO agents were difficult and our persistence resulted in terse, unreassuring responses. In desperation, we called the hotel which had no information as Vacation Homes Only is a third party booking agency. This resulted in a email from VHO threatening us that any "continued calls to the front desk may begin to have a negative effect on your special unit assignment requests." We looked into renting from this group. Someone called me. I could barely understand them. The person calling asked for $500 now and then they would send a contract saying I sent payment. I had a bad feeling and I told her that I want to see the contract first. I asked about the company because she didn't seem legit. She told me she worked "with a company" but not for them and just asked for payments. The entire thing seemed very different from other travel companies I have worked with in the past.
