I had high hopes for a good meal after reading many positive reviews. My order was placed (and paid for) online with a pickup of 7:06pm. I arrived at 7:10pm. I spent my time standing at the counter, trying to catch a someone’s attention. The employees behind the counter were very busy, keeping their eyes down, focused on their work. After waiting 15 minutes, I was asked my name. The burgers, which had been sitting on the counter when I arrived, were bagged along with fries, which were fresh out of the fry basket. The employee (whose attention I had been trying to get since walking in), mumbled an insincere and unconvincing “sorry for your wait”. No condiments were offered, almost sacrilegious - burger and fries without ketchup and mustard! It took 3 minutes to get back to my motel room. The burgers were room temperature and greasy. The fries (both regular and sweet potato) were unappealing, looking floppy and oily. The restaurant may have good food, but the online ordering system failed me. If I hadn’t already paid online, I would have walked out.
Final note: the management reached out to me, saying that they wanted more information about my experience and to make things right. That was the first and last attempt they made to contact me....
Read moreI've been to Mooyah at 2695 King Ave W several times. I went just now.
One of the managers was doing an excellent job. He was training his employees on the spot on how to be active and proactive providers of great customer service, which is a great step in professional development for anyone in any job or career.
I turned my car around when I realized I wanted to give something back to him for his great customer service to me, and to thank him for the way he is helping our community by training his employees in ways that benefit their professional development.
I asked him how I could give positive feedback about him to his boss, because of the above. I said all of this in front of everyone the employees so that they could see that when you do quality work at your job, customers notice and give back. Then we all get to enjoy the prosperity.
He said he was the general manager (His name starts with an Ri (which I say this way to conserve privacy)), that his boss is the owner, and that the best way would be to leave a Google review.
I gave him a $5 tip, which he put straight into the tip jar for his employees.
Thank you, R, for all of the above. I'm going to...
Read moreA Most Noble Feast at Mooya Burgers
Verily, I didst partake in a most wondrous repast at the fair establishment known as Mooya Burgers. Upon entering, I was greeted with the warmth of a thousand suns, for the service was both swift and gracious, like the kindly ministrations of a royal steward. ’Twas there that I met Rico, a servant of great hospitality, whose kindness didst exceed the bounds of mere expectation. With a gesture most generous, he bestowed upon me a delightful shake, free of charge, like a boon from the gods themselves.
The food, I must declare, was a feast worthy of a king. The burger, rich with flavor and tender as a summer’s eve, didst satisfy both body and soul. The fries, crisp and golden as the first light of dawn, were naught but perfection in each bite. The atmosphere of this fine establishment didst echo the joyous revelry of a noble banquet, where laughter and merriment abound.
I leave this place with heart full and belly content, ever grateful for the graciousness of Rico and the bounty of Mooya. If thou art in search of sustenance fit for the gods, look no further than Mooya Burgers. May their success grow as bountiful as...
