My mother has been receiving care from comfort keepers Secaucus since November because of a left side paralyzed stroke and I can't describe in limited words how happy we are. From the day I called and talked to Eydie I felt a feeling of relief. They paired my mom with an amazing caregiver and the staff has been flexible and extremely attentive to my needs including Mercedes the administrative director. In addition to the routine of it all they went above and beyond and Eydie gifted us an incredible iPad and communication device called GrandPad. She not only helped set everything up prior but came to our house to train us and it is just fantastic. My mom was on hospice care and Comfort Keepers sent a Nigerian aide by the name of love. I was in the living room when my grandmother and her aid came screaming for me to come and look. only to see love grabbing my mom who was bed ridden and Wheel Chair Bound from her bed and pulling she complaining that the agency didn’t tell her my mom couldn’t walk. I asked her it’s OK you can leave but because she wanted to be paid for the day she refused to leave. I told her I will call the cops she dared me to call the cops. I finally called the agency to have her leave my house be careful of the type of aide that they send. The staff at Comfort Keepers was very helpful in the care of our grandfather/father. Eydie, Fabian, Nana and Mercedes were all very compassionate, patient and kind with him. We could not have made it through this hard time without their support. They assisted him with his meals, daily hygiene tasks and medication management. Overall, they did a wonderful job in caring for him and we appreciate their thoughtfulness and support during this time.
