The camera on my Android was not working so I took it to Best Buy's Geek Squad to see what they could do. Stephen attended to me and said that while the team is not permitted to fix problems on the Samsung Galaxy A12, he would reset the system and hopefully that would solve the camera issue. He had me sign a couple of permission forms, put my phone on the store WiFi, and backed up my apps so when my phone was switched on again, what had been on my screen could be retrieved. Alas, after resetting the phone my camera app still did not work. Stephen reassured me my apps would return by going to "settings" and showing me how they were all in the process of being retrieved. He suggested I try a couple of local cell phone help shops which could mess with my phone and off I went thinking what a good job Stephen had done despite not solving the problem. That was not quite the case. What I discovered after learning the second place he recommended could also not fix my cam is that I had lost and/or could not find key apps on my phone. Lessons learned: if you are on a store's WiFi, and you leave while apps are still in the process of being restored, you will cause a breach in the connectivity and also the restoration. Secondly, while I thought my Geek guy at Best Buy was nice enough, he should have given me a heads up about that and told me to wait until all my apps had been restored. I spent an additional three hours reinstalling, searching for passwords, etc. So maybe next time give the customer whose phone you reset a heads up about the importance of hanging out with your WiFi until apps have made a complete recovery....
Read moreit’s is such a long story to explain the issues i was having for 2 months with my iphone 12 on tmobile’s cellular service, let’s just say i was not taken seriously by tmobile that i was having any issues at all and i spent hours on the phone and in person trying to resolve the issue but no one at tmobile could figure it out. Geek Squad was my last effort until i would have to cancel with tmobile. The gentleman i discussed the issue with was knowledgeable, polite and patient. he concluded it was not a phone issue, but rather an issue with my cellular service and i was not crazy. there was nothing he could do about the cell service and i left prepared to spend hours on the phone the next day again with tmobile, getting the run-around as they had given me for 2 months prior. Miraculously, the next days phone call to tmobile resulted in me being immediately connected to a tech expert and my phone was fixed in a few minutes. i believe the Geek Squad Guy had something to do with it, and he knew there was something shut off in my data plan and maybe called tmobile to suggest they check. i have no other reason for the sudden solution. of course when i questioned tmobile about it, they blamed it on a cell tower error that caused my issue but i don’t believe that because i have a 2-line phone plan and there was never anything wrong with my 2nd line. So Thank You very much to Geek Squad Guy for not patronizing me and sincerely caring about my problem. you get what you give in this World and i highly recommend Geek Squad in Boardman Oh for...
Read moreMy fiancé called and scheduled an appointment yesterday for today to have my Apple Watch returned under Apple care as the screen was shattered. When we arrived our associate told us hopefully they’re able to do it because she had recently tried with her own watch and was unable to do it because of their system and instead has to go to an Apple store. After spending about 20 minutes there and her multiple trips to the back for unknown reasons, she came out and told us they are unable to do anything for us and we will have to go to an Apple store either in Cleveland or Pittsburgh. I wish they would have told us about this issue over the phone as they knew what we were coming in for and this was a known issue as we had to drive an hour just to get to Boardman, let alone another hour to go to an Apple store. It was a huge waste of our time. Our associate was friendly but it I’m not sure why they didn’t give us a heads up...
