IHOP — Restaurant in Ohio

I didn’t feel very welcomed here. I had an older white red/brown hair lady as a server. The server got an attitude with the person for sitting us in her area. Saying she didn’t want us sat in her area and to not sit us there. We got sat there anyways- that was the start of not feeling welcomed. Then the server rushed us to get our order. She brought us our food….three minutes later she brings us our check…. Goes to turn around and then turns back around. she THEN preceded to ask us how our food is….absolutely backwards. I’m feeling very rushed at this point. I’m just trying to enjoy a breakfast with my husband and my daughter .

I get up to take my kid to the bathroom the serve immediately comes over and tries to take mine and my daughters food, cops an attitude with my husband for asking for another drink- because she would have to redo the check she brought us three minutes into our meal.. we weren’t even close to being finished. Then proceeds four times to take the check realizing we didn’t pay and just tried to nudge the check towards us.

I asked nicely to please stop rushing us. That I didn’t appreciate the way she was rushing us and I didn’t appreciate she brought us our check so early , rushing us . What if I wanted more ? She gets an attitude and a disgusted look on her face but then walks away. Talks crap to another serve and another serve ends up serving us the rest of the time.

Maybe the server needs to find another job. The hospitality business is obviously not for her.

The men’s bathroom also needs more attention paid to it. My husband was unable to use the restroom because of puke...

After being seated, it was 20 minutes before our waitress came to us. She was not very welcoming or talking to us nicely. She took our order, and after another 20 minutes, we still hadn’t received our drinks. When asked, she did apologize and went back to the kitchen. Came right back out, empty handed to ask my mother in law if there was something else she wanted to drink as they were out of what she ordered. Ok, no big deal, she ordered a different drink. Waitress proceeded back to the kitchen. About 10 minutes later the waitress and another come out with our food and drinks all at the same time. The waitress hands my daughter her hot chocolate and goes we’re out of whip cream, I hope that’s ok. And then blames it on a ship/stock problem. They waitresses leave and we start ours meal. I ordered bananas foster crepes, there were no bananas and no filling in my crepe (just plain crepe with foster sauce). Portions of our meals were cold. Hash browns not cooked through. My daughter’s double blueberry pancakes had 5 berries on top. My mother in laws crepes also missing the filling. My husband’s omelet had very little bacon. Upon asking about my crepes, the waitress got really rude with us and said they were out of bananas. I said I am not paying for my meal then, to which they did remove it from my bill. All in all, it was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant and I don’t normally...

The food was good as always but the waitress was being a little weird towards me and my fiancé. She asked us if we wanted separate checks, Apperently we didn't look like a couple to her. She gave us a few dirty looks when we moved booths so I could put my newborn son's carseat carrier next to me. I wanted to keep an eye on him and I wasn't putting him on the ground. But the food was still good. Edit: After that bad experience several years ago, I ended up going back for my birthday this year. That’s why I’m changing my rating. They lied about prices they charged things that were priced differently on the menu. They tried to not give us the free meals for the kids. They charge us for drinks for the children when on the menu, it said they were supposed to be free. They literally charged everything didn’t give me my birthday stack and I even tipped them good after that just because I’m a kind person and I’m not gonna rip you off just because you tried to rip me off and they did rip me off. I have the receipts. I’m just highly disappointed that I tried to have a good birthday dinner that I ended up paying for myself and my children and my family and they took advantage of that.
