I’ve been putting this off for a long time, gaslighting myself into reasons not to. Had it not been for the exceptionally nice and responsive staff, I would have. Going forward, this review is about Lovesac as a product.
I spent probably 13-14k on a 7 seat couch. I got everything.
The recliners don’t look right next to regular seats. There’s visible gaps in the cushions. Lovesac’s official response online was to try and put it in the deep formation. I’m sorry, I bought the couch to use it in a regular depth like it was marketed as. Don’t make people tweak their setup to fill in for engineering inadequacies. I can fit my entire hand in between the cushion gaps on either side of my recliner seats.
The cushions themselves came in various degrees of fill. Half of them stick out from the base more than the others. I made sure my storage seat lids were down flat etc. some cushions just “bend” upward. The store’s response was “yeah, we’ve seen that a couple times with the storage seats.” Neat! To their credit, they replaced one that was obviously defective.
Next, I spent several thousand on the sound system. It’s trash. Go on Reddit if you need any proof. YouTube comments mirror the same sentiments. It disconnects all the time. You have to flip the seat up to reset it from the subwoofer. Fun! Luxury living! I scheduled an appt with the Stealthtech specialists. The guy was very honest “oh yeah it disconnects all the time there’s not much to do. You could run the optic cable instead of usb.” Yeah I’d get right on that except for the fact I had an electrician painstakingly hide all my cords in a wall run! Don’t include a usb or whatever the connection is if it doesn’t work as well. Absolute idiocy! Next came the charging sides. Neither side worked. The tech wasn’t the least bit surprised and said he’d ship two out. I asked him if it was unlikely to be a defect if it was both sides. He explained that the chargers are garbage and have low wattage, and don’t work half the time. He’s seen both broken before. I sat down to replace them tonight. One of the sides’ zippers that hides the chargers was broken. More fun! Luxurious! Ergonomic! Trendy! I ended up jacking up the zipper trying to get it undone, so that’s awesome. I plugged in the new charger base and this doesn’t work either. Spectacular. Oh by the way, you’re looking at a week or two to schedule a stealthtech appointment on the phone. Convenient!
Overall for the 13 or 14 grand I dropped on this couch, I hate the damn thing. I should have returned it but didn’t and still don’t want the headache of shopping all over again (as well as hiring movers to get it out and a new one inside etc). So I walk by it daily and complain about it to my girlfriend. I feel like I was ripped off. Actually, I don’t feel ripped off, I was!
Additionally, speaking of rip off. Don’t jump at a 30 percent discount. They’ve had one literally every time I’ve been on their website. It’s just a sales tactic to make you feel a little less stupid spending so much money on a couch.
I’ll be spending my day off tomorrow calling them yet again for help with these side chargers.
A fool and his money are soon parted. I feel for every markup gimmick they had. Don’t...
Read moreWe purchased an 8 seat couch almost two years ago. We bought it because our three dogs tend to be rough on furniture. We went in to re-purchase some covers because of dog stains, we were told our fabrics were discontinued and we have to buy all new covers. When we bought the couch we were very clear with the sales person that we needed a fabric that was a common one that would not be discontinued and could be replaced. They said that was what is so great about Lovesac, they will make sure that they are able to replace covers. Now, we have to purchase $2,000 in replacement covers because they say now 'we constantly discontinue fabrics'. The compnay should be very clear and not misleading that the covers you buy today are not replaceable unless you want to replace all of your covers at once full-price. For us that means spending about $2,000 every two years. We are better off just buying new coaches every few years from somewhere else where we just replace the coach. The lovesac is not easy to move, clean or re-arrange, so all its benefits that make it worth spending $7k are completely a bad plan if your buying it bc you have...
Read moreI wasn’t totally sold on Lovesac simply because of the cost of the leather option and it just wasn’t in my price range. We tried another company’s leather and absolutely hated it so we wanted to check out Lovesac in Boca to give it a shot and see how the fabric options would work in our home. I also had some issues on the site configuring the perfect size for our space, it’s an odd one so I was bummed that Lovesac wouldn’t meet the size I needed for the new couch to make sense. We were approached by Jody when we arrived and he walked us through the entire process. We helped us configure a new layout which was perfect for our space, I just didn’t see the option online so it was great that we came in for help. He walked us through the upgrades, the cushion fills, and we played with the blocks to make sure we absolutely had the right size. We got a quote and the next day came back in and ordered it with someone else, he was an absolute joy to work with too- what a great staff. The experience was probably one of the main reasons I went with Lovesac so I recommend visiting the location and seeing what they can do...
