6 months ago I have been pawning things with them for a long time and just today I lost my items due to a change in the way they do things...In the past when I have pawned something, I have 4 months to redeem the ticket, or at the forfeit date, come in and make a minimum month interest payment...also, they have always given a grace period to get that interest payment in. My ticket came due yesterday, so I went in this morning and was told that my stuff should have been on the floor for sale already is the manager was working, or I could pay 2 month's interest payment. I said what happened to the grace period for the interest payment that they have always given and why is 2 months interest payment due instead of one? The employee told me they don't do that anymore. I asked her why they didn't inform current ticket holders that they have changed their policies before the due date so they wouldn't lose their items. She said they would have called me and told me the day it was due to tell me that needed to pay 2 months or lose my stuff. Long story short, I went in to make one month interest payment on my stuff the morning after, didn't have the 2 month's payment which has never been the way in the past, and also they did away with their grace period on interest payments without telling anyone who currently was holding a pawn ticket. I lost my items today and am very upset.. When they bought and changed they way they did things, they told everyone ahead of time so people would not lose their items. I only went because it was closer to my house...BIG mistake and now I lost my items. Maybe they "changed they way they do things" on the tickets of items they wanted people to...
Read moreSold quite a bit of things to them about 6 months ago and didn't really do any research because I had a decent amount of stuff at the time. Went there today with a small amount of gold after doing some research online and calling the day before and getting a price per pennyweight for what I had, I was offered way lower than what I should have been and what is expected for scrap gold and completely different than what I was told the day before. I stupidly accepted the offer because I needed the money and was thinking maybe I was wrong about the value of what I had. But after I left I did the math to see what I got per gram and pennyweight and checked well over a dozen online sources about what I should have received. I received half what what the lowest number I found online said I should have. After doing doing some more math on what I was given and what I sold 6 months ago, I was truly shocked and appalled. It is partially my fault for not doing research back then and getting multiple quotes but they were very kind and seemed to trustworthy. It makes me extremely mad and disgusted that they took advantage of somebody that didn't know much about what they were selling and that they would rip somebody off so badly. All I have to say is if you're going to go here, do your research beforehand and get multiple quotes before you commit to selling and if the number seems to low it probably is. Honestly glad I had this experience today though and realized I was not receiving what I should be and being taking advantage of so badly so that I don't ever make the mistake of going...
Read moreI had an assortment of family jewelry to dispose of, and some competitors i checked on line made it clear their interest is only in gold and diamonds. I had mostly silver , other gemstones, and costume jewelry. I saw on line a more welcoming opportunity with Bromfield and positive reviews. I was a walk in, warmly welcomed by Allan the co owner, who objectively appraised all i had brought. Our pleasant conversation broke the ice, and I had done some research to realistically follow his review of what i brought. He made a very fair offer for all of it which i accepted. It can be stressful to sell off jewelry items that meant more to owners than a market assessment can make of them. I can unreservedly recommend Allan and Bromfield to fairly make an assessment, without pressure. Indeed I would return if and when the family decides on any...
