This place is beautiful on the inside! It was my first visit their since it is too painful to go to a church across town right next to the church that I used to go to before it closed and has me wondering if it will ever open up again! The Pastor of this uptown current church and the congregation were very nice and great reception, the word of God was preached great message on Timothy, the music was awesome it was a good first Sunday and it's close to where I live! I have nothing against the church I just left, their a really good church but the memories are their of the church close by them that I'm still wondering if they're doing okay or not and thats painful And because that church is right around the corner from the other Church, I do highly recommend Crosstown Church on the other side of town if you don't have a church home! it's too many memories to have to deal with going to another church right close by them I can't get them out of my mind when I was at that other Church! So it's better for me to make a fresh start visiting after I received an email invite from the Pastor himself from Tremont Temple and give them a try,and they are close by, not far from my neighborhood, so far so good! I've already made a few friends there on my first Sunday! Pastor Jaime is very nice and he's knowledgeable in the word of God! It's a great first start!😁🙏🎶😸 I wrote some notes on here on more activity and the stupid Google map erased my notes! I'm very upset about that because I had some things to say that it wouldn't update! I'm not happy with Google maps right now! What I had to share about this church was very important and this thing would not let me update it I'm not liking Google maps too much right now! One thing I tried to say is I've had a problem with my pain medication I emailed the pastor four or five times about what was going on to keep him updated and he never responded back once in email which really upset me! And it's making me think once I get the medicine situation under control if I really want to keep continuing in this church or not because if you're a pastor or you're a person in the church or some kind of worker you need to deal with people in your church and outside of the church doors as well especially if they're having trouble with something I'm having trouble with and I just wanted to update him! That's not the only thing but that's the start! I decided to no longer go there I also have issues that there are never any altar calls at the end of the service! If a person might have a prayer concern and want to go up to the altar to talk to God that opportunity is not there because there's no invite to come and pray! That really bothers me! Some people might have issues or sin to be dealt with and they get no opportunity to go up front and talk to God during an altar call because there is none! I find that very disturbing! It was a good experience being there but I'm glad to be back at my other Church where I need to be I pray for Tremont Temple Baptist God's blessing on...
Read moreThis place is truly a masterpiece of ornamentation. There's marvelous stained glass, an aisle of deep red carpet, and worn pews that bring to mind a medieval sanctuary. The pipe organ is what makes it truly grandiose.
I attended the Saturday morning service at 11. It was by no means bad, but it wasn't as powerful as I had expected from a Baptist church. The main problem is that there weren't many people, which made it quieter and duller than I'd have liked. They are only so much responsible for this and it was a rainy day.
What they are responsible for is the way they conduct the service, and it was basically decent. The (junior) preacher, who was younger, delivered a heartfelt prayer. It had an evangelical attitude to it. The older preacher / reverend wasn't so animated. He did make a few snide remarks about Europe and liberals, which I found unnecessary and unwelcome in a place like Boston. His sermon wasn't particularly captivating and was more of a history lesson.
The best part of the service was the invitation for members of the church leadership to prayer for members of the audience who came up. There was an evangelical passion to it without the pressure of convert-on-the-spot.
The music was alright. The two singers had nice voices, and the pipe organ sounded beautiful. Unfortunately they accompanied it with a piano, which punctuated the slow, deliberate, airy gasps of the organ with screechy pokes.
The congregation is diverse, so you've got a mix of Black and White people. Traditionally when you think of Baptist churches you think either of spirited Black ministries or angry White ones. This place is not extreme in either direction and welcomes people from different backgrounds.
It's worth trying a...
Read moreThe Tremont Temple Baptist Church in Boston, observed from the outside, boasts an impressive façade that commands attention. While not exuding the warm and welcoming ambiance of some other churches, its imposing presence exudes a sense of historical significance. The architectural design reflects a unique character, setting it apart from traditional Episcopal or Lutheran churches. As an observer, I admired its distinct style and appreciated the glimpse into Boston's diverse religious landscape. Despite not meeting certain expectations, the Tremont Temple Baptist Church leaves a lasting impression, adding to the city's architectural tapestry and...
