Dr. Hong Med Spa — Local services in Boston

I’m leaving this review a while after getting Botox in the newton office with Dr. Hong maybe 10-12 months ago. I’ve been reflecting on my experience. While I will say she does know what she’s doing as far as Botox and I did appreciate the follow up appointment since it was my first time I think there’s some things to improve on. First, I myself am in the medical field. I have suffered with acne for over 7 years and have been to top dermatology & everyone has a solution but the only thing has ever worked for me is lifestyle changes and hormonal balancing. Not expensive cosmetic treatments. But regardless I went to Dr. Hong for Botox on my forehead. Not an acne consolation. She commented on my skin saying it was bad. Mind you I thought I was having a good skin day. So that made me feel bad about myself. I didn’t ask for her opinion on my skin and I went to her for Botox not acne advice. She also commented on how I needed face tightening using emsculpt (again never asked for this treatment or for this advice). I get Koreans have a very different standard of beauty but I personally have no interest in fitting into that standard. If someone comes in for a consultation on forehead Botox I don’t think you should be pointing out all the other things you think need to be done to them. I love myself and personally only wanted Botox, I’m also 25 years old… I know in Korea plastic surgery is normalized but not everyone wants to fit into a beauty standard. Also making money by pointing out ones insecurity’s is pretty messed up. I know she has a good heart and is a nice women but I think it’s good to be aware that when you point out people’s “flaws” unprovoked especially when they are so young and already insecure it is not nice! I went for Botox not to be told I need acne treatments and skin tightening. I am seeing Dr. Hong for a few years now and would never see anyone else for injectables. I recently visited her new Back Bay location for Xeomin injections which I had not had before. Her Back Bay office is convenient with a lovely view. I was immediately comfortable in the setting. I drove in from the suburbs that day and found meter parking a block away without any trouble. The Xeomin injections in place of the usual Dysport I get look amazing. I waited a couple of weeks to write this and I can honestly say I prefer the Xeomin to Dysport. Dr Hong is innovative with her treatments and always does the nicest job giving me a refreshed, natural look. Dr. Hong is AMAZING. Prior to seeing Dr. Hong, I received Botox injections at another location and was not happy. My experience with Dr. Hong is completely different than my past experience. Dr. Hong is a doctor, so she knows what she's doing. She spends a lot of time with her clients and the injections are very strategic and well done and, and the results are awesome.
