Joseph Gann Jewelers is the best. We have worked with Matt Gann since 2010 on 4 rings: An heirloom blue sapphire and a ruby that were each set into pre-existing settings and (a decade later) a tourmaline and white sapphire that were set into custom mounts. Each of these rings is beautiful and the finished product suits each stone perfectly. I cannot say enough wonderful things about working with Matt Gann: He is the epitome of trust and courtesy; we have never felt rushed through the selection process; and when we brought in less conventional gemstones for setting (a huge tourmaline and a white/blue-gray sapphire) there was a great feeling of collaboration and mutual respect. Without needing to say much, Matt understood our vision as well as each gemstone's unique properties. In other words, he allowed/allows everyone to shine! I receive tons of compliments on my tourmaline ring (from 2021) The setting had to be designed and made from scratch to accommodate the stone. The result is stunning. The design is Joseph Gann, and it's perfect! Don’t be afraid to go custom! It’s worth it! When we picked up our most recent collaboration earlier this month (a white sapphire ring in an art-deco style) I was overwhelmed with joy…it was gorgeous and much more opulent than I expected for a simple setting (hard to capture in photos). I wear all four rings from Joseph Gann on regular ‘rotation’ and with each one so different from the other, it’s hard to believe that they come from the same jeweler. However, there is one thing common to them all: Outstanding Quality. We are so pleased to have Joseph Gann as our jeweler and look forward to working with Matt Gann again in the...
Read moreJoseph Gann is amazing! I can't recommend it enough. My fiance and I went to shop for our wedding bands, and to resize/explore options for a heirloom diamond ring. I was really nervous to get the heirloom ring worked on since it has been with the family for so long. Herbert wowed us with his knowledge. His patience and gentle manner really earned our trust to leave the heirloom ring in his care. He was the only jeweler we saw that day who took one look at the ring and immediately accurately described the ring's background (stone dating back to the 20s, and reset probably later in the 70s). He also was the only one who offered a reasonable suggestion, just simply resize and then lower the diamond (it's previous setting was laughably high, which was apparently all the rage in the 70s). This was much more affordable option, that other jewelers didn't offer and pushed us to reset it in a completely new setting.
For the wedding bands, Herbert showed us various options. Their selection is massive, and the website does not represent all of their inventory. He answered of all our questions. When I couldn't decide if I wanted a diamond band or a hand carved band, he brought out a "Bread and Butter" box from his father, from the 30s. In it, he showed how he can customize the hand carved band and install 7 small diamonds. I loved that he wasn't pushy and only brought the Bread and Butter box out when I made an off-hand comment, "if only I can have both". Thanks to this suggestion, I now have the perfect wedding band!

Read moreI bought my engagement ring from Joseph Gann. We worked with Josh Gann. It was a custom ring with a cushion and two trapezoids. My wife (who came with me in the process!) enjoyed working him so much that she also bought my wedding band from him. We would've also bought her wedding band from him but she does not wear one.
What we loved was: -The stones he picked out were amazing. We went to him 3 times just to get the stones right (there were 3 of them). He worked hard to get what we wanted and we had a pretty specific idea of what that was. He is a supremely patient man :) -He never pressured us in any way -Prices were good -He brought us along in the process. He would send us renderings of the ring (which we created from scratch) to make sure we were all right with them. In fact, we moved right after we got engaged. My wife wanted to modify a few things so we mailed it back and he adjusted them with no extra charge. -He's so knowledgeable. I'd read up a bunch and he also educated me on how the ring was made, what to look for in the diamond. -We trusted him completely, which is obviously a big deal
The only time I had previous experience with a jeweler was with buying a watch. A wedding ring was a much more intense process especially if your tailoring all its elements. And it's the most expensive thing I've ever purchased in my life. I can't imagine someone being more knowledgeable, more trustworthy, or more...
