Dr. Elizabeth Walsh, a pancreatic oncologist, was my oncologist. After having two rounds of radiation, she and her radiation oncologist, told me to let them know if I was losing weight and feeling ill. That was in April. I did contact them repeatedly. I was sent over ( by her) to my old gastroenterologist at another hospital who had misdiagnosed my pancreatic cancer for vasculitis. I asked for more appropriate help at MGH . I never received. It. Repeatedly I told her how sick I was. I asked her to do a tumor marker.blood test . She refused . I went to my PCP at another hospital who called her office. She told them how sick I was and asked that further testing be done. She was told that they were sticking to the original plan of doing testing in August. My PCP from UMass did her best to help me. My UMass urologist was looking for a new oncologist for me. They knew I was receiving inappropriate care. By the time the CT Scan was done, the cancer had spread exponentially and I was given less than six months to live. My condition was fatal and I understood that. I had been misdiagnosed for a year at Beth Israel as having vasculitis but what Dr. Elizabeth Walsh did was to take more time off of my life by completely ignoring me and my needs and not catching the spread earlier. Never, ever, would I go to Mass General oncology nor would I ever recommend them. Dr. Elizabeth Walsh should find another profession where lives aren’t on the line.i will be filing complaints both with the hospital and with the state. There was absolutely no excuse for what happened...
Read moreI would not bring my dog to any part of Mass General for treatment. My brother was diagnosed with brain cancer and received treatment at both MIT and Mass General Cancer Center. He used to call his doctors Dr's Doom and Gloom. When he was inpatient, his room mate used to tell us that after visiting hours, they would take him and then bring him back vomiting and sicker than before. We found out after he passed that they were treating for seizures he didn't have. I will never forget the final meeting where Dr's D&G told us there was no more that can be done - followed by immediate discharge with a puke bucket. There are many options for treatment in the Boston Area. Do your research - and follow your heart. ...
