If you are looking for a fun way to learn about and eat your way through the North End, this is a tour you can not miss. It is the perfect way to spend a Boston afternoon. You learn about the history of the North End from Bobby, who has lived there his entire life, get to eat a lot of great foods, and get to see things you would never see on your own.
Bobby has a personality that is contagious. This isn't just any average tour. He keeps the energy levels high, even when you may think about slipping into a food coma, and is truly passionate about what he does and the neighborhood. Everyone in the area knows him. With Bobby, you learn far more than you would on a typical tour led by a tour company. I can't say enough how this is the food tour to take in the North End and even if you didn't plan on a tour, you should do it.
Book your tour in advance online and then come ready to eat. Our tour started out at the Tony DeMarco statue, we then went to Antico Forno for pizza, pasta, and wine. Then we went to Monica's Pasta Shop for some Arancini, next Salumeria Italiana for tastings of delicious olive oil, balsamic vinegar (it's truly amazing, we had to buy some for ourselves), cheese & deli meat, and of course the giant sub, next up Bricco Panetteria for Sfogliatelle (we never would have found this place on our own), next Polcari's Coffee, and then we ended the tour at Mike's Pastry with their famous cannolis and a special added treat of a Pistachio cookie. While the tour is food-focused, it's not just about eating. You also get to learn about the North End and hear real-life stories from Bobby about all of the locations and other areas that you pass.
Everywhere we went, people who weren't on our tour kept listening to Bobby and wanting to join us. Too bad for them that they didn't sign up for the tour. This is a can not miss thing to do in Boston. The tour is about 3 hours and seemed to fly by. This will be your favorite thing you do in Boston, just like...
Read moreAs a food enthusiast constantly on the hunt for authentic culinary experiences, the North End Boston Food Tour led by Bobby was an absolute delight. Bobby, a true local who grew up in Little Italy, possesses an unparalleled knowledge of the area that truly sets this tour apart from others.
From the very beginning, Bobby's warm and engaging personality made us feel like we were being shown around by a long-time friend. His anecdotes about growing up in Little Italy added a personal touch that you just can't get from a standard tour guide.
The selection of eateries we visited was impeccable. Each stop on our tour was a hidden gem, offering a taste of true North End flavors. From mouth-watering cannolis to the most exquisite pasta I've ever tasted, every bite was a testament to the rich culinary history of the area. Bobby's relationships with the local chefs and vendors also meant we got the VIP treatment everywhere we went.
What truly set this tour apart was Bobby's deep-rooted connection to the neighborhood. He didn't just show us the best places to eat; he shared stories and insights that painted a vivid picture of Little Italy's past and present. His passion for the area's history and culture was infectious, making the experience educational as well as delicious.

Read moreOn Thursday, August 15th 2024 my husband and myself met up with a group of people, along with host, Bobby Agrippino, for a tour of the North End of Boston. This is known as the Italian Section of Boston. What an experience! From the very beginning to the very end we were thoroughly entertained and fed. The food consisted of the finest ingredients. The taste was exceptional. Bobby’s knowledge of the area, being born and raised there, added the perfect touch to our tour. Each establishment he took us into was very welcoming. We started off with a sit down lunch, a glass of red wine, pizza, and an excellent dish of pasta. (I want the recipe). From there it was non stop eating and tasting. We enjoyed lemon cello and demitasse coffee in an edible cookie. After that, we went to another bakery for a warm sfogliatella and then to another bakery for a large cannoli, delicious. We also were taken into a coffee store where we were given a bag of their signature coffee to take home. Now on to the deli. We were each given an Italian hero. At this point, you could not eat another thing. We were also given a taste of an extra virgin olive oil (which we purchased) and a taste of their vinegar. I’m sure that I’m leaving something out. Bobby went on to share the rich history of the Italians that migrated there and their daily lives. This tour was way more than we expected. I would recommend this tour to anyone who visits Boston. You won’t be disappointed.
