Allied Furnishings — Local services in Bountiful

My husband and I moved into a patio home this past month and had “Allied Furnishings” do our blinds. We wanted something different than shutters to be able to have access to the beautiful view out our windows and the light that we love so much. We chose the Hunter Douglas, battery operated “BANDED SHADES” in Light Filtering Buckingham/Organza. They are just beautiful and give us the privacy we wanted, but can be raised to have the light filtering bands when we wanted a full window of light. Having four 5 ft. Windows in our Great Room with the battery operated feature has also been such a wonderful feature. We did a Powerview Rechargeable battery operated Room Darkening window covering in our Master Bedroom… this has a feature where you can open them from the bottom up or the top down. We absolutely love this feature when we just want a little light in the morning, so we bring the top down about 15 inches. We worked with Mariann who was so professional and helpful. She was able to help us stay within our budget and helped us when we had any questions as we were “novices” at this whole experience. Came highly recommended. We wanted to support local...but our experience was bad! Agent didn't order enough carpet when we had family coming into town for graduation. They had to put in temp carpet in one bedroom which smelled dirty (like a dog used it). Also, the short of carpet was their mistake...they should have owned up to the mistake and covered it especially since we were the ones who were inconvenienced. I would not recommend them to any family or friends. Instead we were expected to pay for the mistake or shortage. Not to mention their carpet installer damaged our had wood floors and our custom made wooden staircase. I brought it to agents attention and nothing was ever done. When we remodeled our home we got motorized blinds from Allied. A few years later we thought we'd try Blinds.com for three more motorized blinds. We won't make that mistake again. The Allied blinds have been terrific compared with the other motorized blinds we've purchased. When our blinds.com motorized blinds failed, it was going to cost us $100 to ship them back in order to take advantage of the warranty coverage. The Allied blinds just keep working great. Allied fixed the blinds-com blinds in their store without charge---even though we didn't buy them in their store. Huge savings on shipping costs. And have you seen the Allied store on Main street in Bountiful? Wow. It's got everything. Super professional from sales, to repair. We won't go anywhere else for blinds...
