I have never in my life been so blatantly disrespected as a shopper to have someone follow me around and literally stand next to me to make sure I'm not shop lifting as what just happened to me at Dick's Sporting Goods in Boynton Beach, FL. I complained to the manager (who's apology meant very little after I had been both insulted and inconvenienced) and went next door to Sports Authority where I should have gone first. I used to be a regular shopper here but I guarantee that after today I will find other means. What made it so bad is that some other random guy went and got the store associate to tell him about me. All I was doing was standing there trying on weight training gloves. I didn't really catch on to what was happening until the random guy made a point to walk a few steps past me, pretend to look at something and then turn around and walk back past me again. He was so close that I was paying attention in case he was going to attack me. Then as he walked away, he nodded at the store associate who told him "thank you" and then proceeded to watch me. Once I noticed this, and after standing there in disbelief for a few minutes and to make sure that that store associate really wasn't going to leave to go do anything else, I just scanned the item I chose so that I could buy it on Amazon or elsewhere. Then I politely waited in line to speak to a manager. I mean, the associate literally helped another customer by just pointing them in a direction on the opposite side of the store then promptly returned to stand 10 steps away from and glare at me. He even had the audacity to come over and "suggest" a pair of gloves to me by saying "These are the cheapest"! After I told the "manager" what happened I left and went to Sports Authority where they had the same exact item for $2 less and were polite and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery disappointed with my visit to Dickās in Boynton Beach, FL today. I checked online beforehand to make sure they had a specific product in stock, so I made the trip over. When I got there, I asked the first employee for help because I wasnāt sure where to look. She just pointed across the store and vaguely said, āItās over there.ā Spoiler alertāit wasnāt.
I searched the entire area with no luck. I asked a second employee for help, and they sent me to another wrong location. Strike two. I walked all the way back and asked a third employee who pointed me to a third section of the store. At that point, I found similar itemsābut still not what I actually came for, which were youth sizes. No luck there either.
What frustrated me most wasnāt just that no one knew where the product wasāit was that none of them even offered to walk with me to help. It felt like I was bothering them just by asking simple questions.
To top it off, I asked a fourth employee at checkout if they carried youth sizes and she just shrugged and said, āI donāt know, I guess theyāre all together.ā Not exactly confidence-inspiring.
One last thingāand I know itās a personal preferenceābut is it part of the uniform now to wear those huge bull-style nose rings? Three out of the four employees had them. Itās just not a professional look, and honestly, itās off-putting.
Not the experience I expect from a store like Dickās. Iāll think twice before going back to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey advertise Premium bike maintenance. Its offered on their local website. In the bike section, there is a sign for it and a price for it. I ordered it and paid for it. Nobody calls. I call 3 days slater to get an update. They told me its been done for 3 days. (but that's another story). I asked the maintenance guy what else is wrong with it. He says nothing, bike is in great shape. I pick it up. They did not do the maintenance I paid for. They said they only do the basic maintenance. They give me a small refund because they didn't do the maintenance I asked for. Now I have to pay for another complete maintenance fee on my bike because they did not do the two things I specifically wanted done, wheel truing and brake maintenance. I even offered (and its written on my work order) to pay for additional work that they identify from the maintenance work I asked for. Nothing. Nope. Bike is in great shape. (And my brakes do not work --- one of the things I was willing to pay for --- I knew they were bad. But, they never looked at my brakes because, "the bike is in great shape." p.s. I noticed you put a screw on my reflector since the original one was lost and my reflector was dangling on the handle bar. Thanks for the screw. Too bad I...
