“I had a horrible experience yesterday at the Boynton Beach location. It was incredibly frustrating, and I left feeling very dissatisfied with the service and overall experience.” I went into the Boynton Beach Target location, and while I was there, one of the employees accidentally hit my car with a shopping cart. When I pointed it out, he casually responded, ‘Oh, that’s my fault.’” He asked me if there was a scratch on my vehicle, and after getting out, I noticed there was indeed a scratch. I told him I would need his information because there was a visible mark left from the cart. He proceeded with his task and asked if I had a return. After processing my return, he stated, “If you want my information, you’ll have to come inside; I have things to do.” At this point, I was shocked and asked to speak with a manager. I approached another Target employee and explained the situation, asking to see a manager. He reassured me that we would speak to one. After waiting for a few minutes, I went inside the store and was approached by the same employee who had hit my car. He asked, “Do you still want my information?” I replied that I just wanted to speak with his manager. He said okay and walked away. While waiting in the customer service line, I decided to leave. However, as I turned to leave, I was stopped by the same Target employee who reassured me earlier that he would get a manager, along him another Target (which I later found out was a manager) attendant stood. The second employee told me that the person with him was the manager. I proceeded to speak with him and explained I have been waiting to speak with a manager. While I was talking, the manager rudely interrupted and said, “You have to do an incident report.” I was taken aback and asked, “Why are you being rude? I came here for a return, not this.” The manager responded, “well I’m just saying, I’m the manager, and you need to file an incident report.” I decided to leave after speaking with the manager. I asked for his name, and he told me it was Angel. I also asked about the name of a Target employee, but the manager pretended not to know who I was referring to. He then asked me to give a description of the employee who had hit my car. I was confused because, while the manager seemed to know exactly who I was and what I was complaining about, he had no idea who the employee was that had caused the damage.” I informed the manager that I would address this matter differently due to the manager’s unpleasant attitude and the irresponsible, careless behavior of the target employee.”

I have never shopped at the East Boynton Target but was in the area and decided to get some grocery shopping done. The experience was very pleasant and self check out was great. I felt really bad for the lady working there however. She was the only one assigned to a very busy area of the store with so many people calling for her. I have to give her credit for keeping her cool and moving from one register to the next keeping everyone in order of when they asked for help, me included. She was pleasant and always smiled. The only negative I do have to give this store is the WiFi. As a Red Circle member I could not scan the codes in store for additional % off. Even the store associates complained they had the same issue.

I know Targets are basically all the same BUT this location in Boynton was so impressive I had to share and give credit where credit is due. I was here on a Saturday midday and the store was so clean & so organized. Truly, shopping in a space that is well taken care of, well managed, and you can see the staff actually cares makes a world of a difference. I am sure many agree that walking into so many retail stores these days can often be not a great experience, so many are dirty, old, unorganized…so this Target was a breath of fresh air. I hope the staff of this store see how much we appreciate their hard work.

Christmas Blues.

I bought a Switch Lite and Mario Kart 8 at this location. When my daughter unwrapped the game on Christmas morning we noticed it was the wrong game.

We brought it to our local Target who sent us back here. When I got to the register I was told "we don't do accept returned games. " I explained that I would not know if a game was broken unless I opened the package.

The sales associate called out for a supervisor to process the return. The manager came up looked at the game and told me it was fake. I provided my receipt and assured him that I purchased the game brand new and did not open the package until Christmas.

He mentioned that the game was plastic and the package was also not the package the games normally come wrapped in.

I informed him that I had nothing to do with that and that I purchased the game along with the console at his store.

He notified me that he would check the cameras and confirm my purchase.

After a few minutes he came up and said we can see you bought the game here so I'll grab another one and exchange it for you. He even mentioned that he would open the package up in front of me to ensure the game was as promised.

After about 10+ minutes he came back looking defeated and explained that they could not find a replacement. He offered me a refund in the form of a gift card.

He apologized for the incident and told me to have a nice day.

This was the political version of my experience. Truth is I felt embarrassed. The way things were handled with the checking of the cameras, saying the game and plastic were fake, and doing this in front of other guest looked bad. I'm black, being black means you sometimes have to prove your innocence.

I could only imagine the judgements I was getting from everyone behind me who probably thought as suggested that I got a 3D printer and counterfeited the game.

They supervisor never accused me of doing such things but the mere mention of this just made the optics of the transaction feel like I was trying to get one over on the store.

Lesson learned: open your games in the store in the presence of an associate. Needless to say I will no longer shop at this...

On the one hand, I shop here all the time, so I admit me criticizing this place and giving it three stars may seem hypocritical. Don't know, don't care.

There's plenty of good here. It's clean, they have everything you need, it's organized well. Just wanted to point out a couple issues. These MAY be an overall Target issue, or they may be limited to this location.

I think there's 12 lines, but never more than three are open when I go regardless of the hour. This is especially problematic in the afternoon when the lines stretch pretty far out, presenting a health risk especially for the elderly and the customers who drive on Rascals.

Now, I know self-checkout exists. It just seems strange that with how busy this location is, especially considering its proximity to Renaissance Commons, Via Lugano, etc., that there isn't more manpower.

I've also noticed that early in the morning, let's say between 7:45-8:45, it starts getting pretty busy ... and there's never more than one line with the light on in recent weeks. In the past if there were two lines open with their light on, cashiers used to conveniently go on break.

So this leads me to...

Self-checkout opens way, way too late. I want to say self-checkout opens around 10 a.m., because I've been there after 9 a.m. and it's closed.

I know there's always the threat of people stealing from self-checkout, and it helps to have someone watching. What I don't understand is why, with how busy this place gets, they don't open self-checkout much earlier. Why let the lines stretch so long because you only have one or two lines open when you KNOW it gets busy early.

These two problems aren't gonna stop me from shopping at this Target, not yet at least. But I'm sure at some point they'll make someone walk in, see the checkout problems, go back to their car, and just head to Publix or...
