Hot Topic — Local services in Brea

Today is 8/10/24 the absolute worst experience of my life. I tend to shop way too much at Hot Topic, because they normally have great service. The first clue I got that it was going to be horrible is when I walked in with a return. The girl that is scary as is by the door gave me a side eye. I went to pick out the items I wanted to get. I had my receipt that was from the previous day. There was 4 girls standing around behind the register. I told her hi I would like to exchange this. She told me I could not because it was not the correct packaging with an attitude. I told her I have a receipt from yesterday that manager helped me. Why don't we call him. She was mumbling with 3 of the 4 employees then she said well let me see I tried to give her my phone number so she could see that I buy way too much from them. Then she said so what do you want to do? I asked her the name she said I don't have to give you my name??!! She said I was giving her attitude? I was like listen I'm matching everyone's energy I was going to do an exchange, but not give me my money back. Instead of making a sale she took a hit with a return I walked out but left my phone all 6 employees with an empty store where having a meeting behind the counter . I cannot tell you how absolutely ridiculous that was. If she was the manager she would be fired. If she knew how much I would be willing to spend, but this store is in business to get rid of you not to help you. I will stick to my usual 3 stores that are kind and helpful with a clean store. This store has all the fandom merch you could ever imagine. Always super stocked. It's a bit small so walking through it is like a maze but the workers there are super helpful so it makes it easier to get in and out. They have a lot of piercings that are usually but 2 get one or buy one get one half off and I believe they have a stamp card you can fill up from buying body piercings and get a discount from which is cool. They have CDs and Vinyls as well in the very back of the store that are definitely worth checking out if you like records or hard copies. The store is kinda broken up into sections. In the front where you first walk in, youll have all the fandom stuff with clothing, jewelry, and accessories. The middle of the store is where all the clothing for everyday wear is like band and music tshirts, pants and jeans, dresses, body jewelry, and other little accessories. And the back is the music related stuff, cds, vinyls. This last time I went was to get some jeans because they have really nice quality jeans and pants that fit my tiny frame and they were having a buy one get one sale so I went over there and the female worker there (didn't catch her name :/ ) stopped and helped me find the right ones I wanted and helped ring up my order and was out...

I’m someone who doesn’t usually do reviews however this HT and the staff are fantastic and very very patient!

I came in two different days and both times the staff did amazing! On the first day(feb. 14th) the two girls who had helped me that day were amazing! One had helped me find a Tokyo Ghoul Sweatshirt which I was super excited about! The other girl with the rainbow hair answered some questions that I had as well and was very helpful. All the staff that day were very kind and welcoming as a whole.

The second day I had come in to do an exchange for a small size denim vest that I had purchased the first day because I was too large. The second day there was quite a mix up with addresses and accounts and we had to do a lot of flip flopping. There was a I believe a new girl in training, working with either a shift lead or manager who was helping her.

I felt bad about making it so complicated but we completely worked it out and I appreciated and still appreciate how helpful they were.
