This is simply my experience shopping here and it may be different for other people, however, I left feeling very sad so I thought I would share. I came here on a Tuesday evening to shop for a bra since the band on my current VS bra is too big. I had never been here before and thought I would try it since some stores carry small sizes. In my opinion, the women working there completely overreacted when I told them the size I was wearing from VS, saying in a condescending tone that they sized differently and that I was much smaller than that. The employee that helped me in the fitting room kept making mortified faces every time I told her the size I was given at VS. She kept expressing disbelief and looking at me like she was appalled that VS could ever give me that size. She kept telling me how wrong those sizes are and I wasn’t sure how to respond since that is completely out of my control and I was simply answering their questions. The employee either visibly cringed or looked like she wanted to laugh whenever I showed her the bras she was giving me to try on. She gave me a push up bra and when I showed her, she looked like she was amused rather than trying to help me. I felt very bad about myself after leaving the store. I just wanted to find a bra that fit, not be reminded multiple times about how small my chest is. I would have been open to purchasing one if I had not felt judged every time I tried it on. Read moreHad the worst experience at the Brea Mall Soma store. Went in to return bras purchased online that did not fit. The Sales person named Janet refused to refund one of the bras to my credit card because it was shipped separately without an invoice and offered a store credit. I was within the return policy but because the “computer” would not allow her to refund to my credit card she said states she could only give me store credit. It is unconscionable that Soma would try such devious credit practices. When I refused and asked for a refund to my original form of payment she refused. She even went so far as to say her manager said she could only give me store credit. Janet then proceeded to ignore me when I would not give in to her request. I left the store and called the customer service number and asked for a supervisor. I spoke with James who listened to my experience. James agreed that a refund to my credit card should have been given and refunded my credit card and sent me a label to mail my return back. I appreciate James’ customer service. I wanted to be professionally fitted, which I was assured would happen and that I didn’t need to make an appointment as all sales personnel were trained in fitting. The associate on the phone assured me that it would be no problem to fit me based on the information I gave her. I had given her my measurements as well as my average size in shirts. No problem. When I got to the to the store the sales associate measured me and regretfully informed me that they did not carry bras in my size. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I rarely leave reviews and I don’t like leaving a negative one. But it would have been nice if I had been told on the phone, that the store did not carry my size.
