Hey it's meHey it's me
I've been looking for a place that sells African food near me. I found this place after a google reviewer said to try this place. So I tried beef Egusi soup & Fufu for the first time. I went in this store and a kind gentleman helped me and ordered my food for me. I got it home it was still hot. If you are wondering what it taste like. Let me help you. To me Egusi reminds me of a Spicy tomato based beef stew. Fufu tasted like a thick mashed potato rolled in a ball made for dipping. I think this dish is great. It's comfort food. Perfect amount of spice. Egusi is very well seasoned. Definitely worth trying.

Sesi has to have thee best Egusi Soup/Fufu & Jollof Rice & chicken hands DOWN! Sooo good! I literally went into purchase shea butter & noticed they were a restaurant as well. I decided to try Egusi Soup & Fugu for the first time, now im addicted! Beyond delicious, & reasonable prices. Not to mention the beautiful woman who checked me out was so sweet to myself and daughter and extremely helpful. If you want to try Delicious Nigerian 🇳🇬 food PLEASE run don’t walk to Sesi’s ‼️ I am a paying customer and have zero affiliation with them. This is my HONEST review (meats I chose were goat, chicken & beef)

Definitely, a hidden gem. Got the jollof rice with my meat choice of chicken and goat. The rice was mad flavorful plus the chicken falls off the bone and the goat was really good too. The equsi with fufu I had with beef and goat came out hot. The greens are soooo good soaked in flavor and made it perfect to scoop it up with the fufu. Goat and beef were cooked perfectly and added to an already fulfilling meal.

Great food. Great service today. Ms. Sesi was very nice. Food was prepared on time & was able to checkout swiftly upon arrival. Reasonable price for a really ample amount of food. Was extremely pleased today.

Sesi's saved the day after I was let down by Homewood's African Food Factory & Grill yesterday. Those people over there (in Homewood) were no shows, & it was so unfortunate because I really wanted to patronize their business, but the place was locked & dark when Google said they should have been open. Maybe they need to update Google. Idk what happened but was left hungry & disappointed. Nevertheless, Sesi's saved the day. Placed an order by phone (which she immediately answered), & she said 30 mins. And when I went inside, she was on point w/ the timing. 👌🏾

I'll be honest & say I had a vastly different experience w/ Sesi's some years back. Was longer than a 3 hour wait for an order I placed ahead of time by phone, several years ago. I was so dissatisfied that I never came back. And to be fair, I'm not sure she had as much help in the store back then. I think it mighr have been just her. Whereas now, I saw two other pleasant workers in there helping. So that's probably a great help! And it shows! Because after I was let down by the Homewood Factory & Grill, I VERY reluctantly called Sesi's. But ended up being so glad that I did. They saved the day...

If I could rate the food it's 4/5. It's always good with the exception of one time because it was a bit watery. I've given this rating because I've been to this place on several times. On the list 2 times I was overcharged. I usually get agusi. The first 3 times it was $11.03 exactly. Then on one occasion I ordered agusi and a couple of seasonings. Another customer was near by and heard her tell me the cost as she rang me up. She tried to warn me about the lady overcharging me, but I could hardly understand because of her accent. She was questioning the lady about it, but me not understanding I was still overcharged. The last time I visited. I only got agusi and was charged $12 when it was previously $11. I like to support black businesses, but I won't be supporting this one again if people are going to try...

This was the best Nigerian foods I've ever had. I literally drove from the north side of Chicago all the way to Markham, crazy right. But, it was worth the drive. It's a restaurant and a grocery storpe all in one, which is cool. I ended up buying some goat meat and cow foot, I won't do that again. The problem is, everything is frozen, which is nothing wrong with that, but that puts weight on it when you weighting it. A small bag of goat meat costs me 30 dollars, that's crazy. There's no price on absolutely anything, so you don't know until you get checked out. My advice is, please put prices on your products, so we know what we are buying, please sell fresh meat so we don't spend an crazy amount of money. I'm definitely going back for the hot...
