Spice Queen Vegan and NonVegan Soul Food — Restaurant in Bremen Township

I understand everyone’s experience is different, but I just wanted to take a moment to share mine. This past Sunday, I was in the mood for something new and different — and I’m so glad I stumbled upon Spice Queen Vegan & Non-Vegan Soul Food during their grand opening.

This Black-owned establishment immediately caught my attention with its inviting decor, eye-catching menu, and intimate, soulful vibe. You could feel the love in the space — from the look and layout to the energy inside. One of the standout moments for me was when the owner personally stepped out from behind the cashier’s window to greet each guest and hand-deliver orders — a rare and genuine touch that made everyone feel seen and appreciated.

I was especially curious about the Cornish hen dinner, and I have to say, it was cooked to absolute perfection — tender, flavorful, and satisfying. The sides were solid as well, and everything came out hot and fresh. I also tried one of their vegan burgers (which I originally got for someone else, but ended up eating myself), and I was so impressed that they used real vegan cheese. That’s a detail many places overlook, and as someone who is lactose intolerant, I appreciated it deeply.

Now, about the tea — I’ll be honest, it wasn’t quite my thing. It was a little too sweet for my taste, giving more of a Kool-Aid feel than a traditional herbal vibe. But again, that’s personal preference and doesn’t take away from the overall quality and experience I had.

I left feeling proud, impressed, and hopeful for this business. It’s clear that Spice Queen was created with passion, intention, and community in mind. I will absolutely be back, and I’ll be spreading the word. Wishing them...

My experience at Spice Queen was fantastic from the start of the visit to the end. The owners were very warm and inviting. The decor was so beautiful and vivid. I especially enjoyed the praise and worship music that was playing in the background which caused my wait to be extremely short. I personally tried the footlong catfish sandwich. This sandwich was humongous and very flavorful! It was so big until I could not eat it in one sitting. I even shared it with my friend and we still had some leftovers. It was absolutely delicious and the yum yum sauce that came with it made the sandwich even better! This catfish sandwich is definitely highly recommended by me!

Atmosphere was very warm and inviting.
