Dollar General — Local services in Brenham

The DG is a good place to go if your not up for the crowds in the bigger stores but, my last visit kind proved my statement above as false. I waited in line with 13 ppl in front of me and 6 behind me. The shelves we empty and there were pallets of unstocked product in almost every isle. About 85 % of the customers didn't have a mask as well as the cashier, which the signs on the door warning that you must have a mask on before entering the store is as far as it goes. The cashier was the only staff seen in the store, I instantly felt bad for her as I imagined how many complaints she must have received throughout the day about the store, about ppl not wearing mask and how long the check out line was, as we walked up she a deep sigh, and started scanning. We wished her a good afternoon she smiled and...

Hit or miss with this store... Seems that the staff is getting younger and could care less about the needs of customers... these young checkers don't want to work or ring you up...they just wanna stand around and talk to each other... 2 employees in particular...both seem kind of new...attitudes are off the chart... 0 stars is what I wish I could have given...Went in today...the young one just seems that it will hurt her life to speak..."How dare she speak to a paying customer!" ...in my sarcastic voice...Y'all need a training course for these young employees...This store is going downhill real fast...she's going to run across the right customer someday and they will let...

I have always felt a slight discomfort shopping here. I've not had any one incident that could put this into a moment of occurrence. I am not greeted when I walk in, often, there are no employees to assist in a customer's queries and the overall perceived attitude from the staff, is one that the customer is a hassle and often treated with contempt. The merchandise is not of such unique availability nor of any quality that the items purchased in a more welcoming environment with appreciation for the customer, could equate the shopping elsewhere.
