So I've been coming to this theater since it was the Rave. I would say it's about 50/50 now whether I have a enjoyable experience here or not at the AMC. I'm going to average it out and give 3 stars. The movie we were going to see was All Eyez On Me, the new tupac biopic, we went yesterday, a tuesday.
Let me get into my experience that made me want to write this review. Like I said in the start, it's about 50/50 if I have a good movie going experience here. This night was not a good experience. We headed into the theater and there was not a lot of people at first, maybe 10 total, but every last one of them were on their phones and one couple sitting in the middle was BLASTING music on their phone. Now this wasn't at first a huge issue as the trailers hadn't even started yet, but it was pretty annoying. I like to get there early to get good seats, and to watch those little features/behind the scenes things they play before the trailers. The music from their phone was playing the entire time during this. Then the trailers started and they continued to play the music through the first trailer. Now this is just a personal preference, but i typically enjoy watching the trailers to see whats coming soon. And I also feel that while the ads before the trailers are playing, sure go ahead and use your phone and talk while the house lights are up, no big deal. But once those trailers start a MINIMUM of 5 various "shut off your phone" type ads have played. and the movie experience has begun.
They eventually shut off their music by the end of the first trailer, but everyone else was still texting and using their phone with the screens on. Now to the more serious issue. As soon as the actual movie had started 8 teenagers came storming into the theater, laughing and yelling and throwing pop corn every where. and ran up the stairs to the very top corner (we were seated in the middle of the very top) so they were all right next to us yelling and laughing with each other and making a horrible mess of popcorn and spilling soda. Me and my friend looked at one another and said if they don't calm down in less than 5 minutes we are going to leave. Sure enough this continued well past 5 minutes and we left the theater. Which was rather unfortunate because we both really wanted to see this movie.
We left the theater and went directly to the customer service window and we told them the issue with the people on their phones as well as the teens in the theater. I told them I'd like 2 movie passes because we really did want to see this movie but only got 5 minutes into it. They were very accommodating and gave us the passes with zero hassle. I told them that I wasn't sure how the teens got into the theater in the first place because the movie was rated R and none of them seemed to be over 15 years old. They told us it was because it was summer and schools had been let out on break and they really couldn't control it too much. Hence the 3 star review. I was going to write a section about the AMC Premier card and how awesome it is to have one, but I reached the character limit, but serious look it up and get one if you go to the movies regularly, it's definitely worthwhile and pays itself off in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe entire front sections back row was this filthy. We have to buy tickets in advance so it's not as if we can just go and pick different seats. I went to try and let management know and see about changing our spots so we didn't choose a seat already purchased by someone else. The manager was almost rolling her eyes over the issue. I guess she didn't think it was that big a deal if we sat in that nastiness. So a guy came around the corner and she told me to show him and he would deal with it. On our way to auditorium 14 he said "uh oh, it sounds like the movie is already going, it looks like we're not going to be able to do anything about this" but in a way as if he didn't care. So we went in and I showed him our seats. He was like "oh wow. I don't know what we could do" in a very monotone way and then said why don't you sit over there, as he pointed in the corner. So I pointed out to him the entire row of filthy seats, showing him they are all disgusting. And then he said "well, you can sit over there" and pointed an even closer to the screen corner seat, which was a worse spot. They didn't even offer a center spot! I paid for a center. Not a spot in the far right corner next to the screen. Then I decided to just listen to my son who said let's go up a row. So we did and that row was disgusting. It took forever to find three seats that weren't buried in Orange garbage. It looked like Cheetos, cheese popcorn and gas station nacho cheese was smeared and thrown all over the chairs. The headrests are really gross too. This is reminding me of the AMC that closed down off of deer valley because of the disgusting cleanliness conditions. These theaters don't realize they need to keep their facility clean in order to keep customers coming back, otherwise they will also shut down. We can stream most movies on demand and that is what they are pushing people to do. But the lazy manager has to know she is letting her facility become a disgrace. I'm sure the owner would be highly dissatisfied to find out that she is letting this turn worse than the Brendan. This is a more upscale area, this is not in a rundown neighborhood.
Because these photos were taken in a completely dark theater using only my flash, the filth doesn't show up on camera as it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis person claims to be AMC manager!! But how did she end up being a manager when Iām trying to talk to her about my kids being kicked out the movie theater, she claims they were being disruptive and she called security and told my kids she was going to call the police if they donāt leave. Like what is this world coming to. When kids are out here trying to do something positive with their time and not out on the streets getting into trouble or out partying but just trying to watch a movie they actually paid for and getting kicked out was your best option for them. At least give them a warning. Then security told my son he was going to dragged him out if he didnāt leave. Like why can kids just go out and enjoy themselves without people always trying to make kids feel like they donāt belong out here in the world. Me being a mom went to talk to her about the situation because my son was really upset that he paid to watch something just to get kicked out because someone had told them heās being disruptive?..and Iām talking to her asking her what happen, and all she had to say was we donāt have to give anyone service if we donāt want too. I asked her what was her name. She said she donāt have to give me her name. I asked to speak to someone higher than her she said she was the manager and no one is higher than her. I ask her if my sons can get a ticket to come back and finish the movie because their upset and they was really enjoying the movie. She said no she canāt do that. I done tried to work things out with her and she walked always leaving me and my sons standing outside with no help and no one to talk too. AMC please do hire people that understands kids will always be kids and no kids is perfect. Every kid needs second chances no matter what color they are. And please train them to go sit in the movie theater if someone makes a complaint so they can know for sure if itās true. She was rude really rude and she doesnāt know how to handle a situation when itās bad and walking away from customers is not alright. She need to do better!! And she need to be nice to everyone and know how to handle things like this. Walking away as a manager doesnāt sit...
